Re: Can't locate MIME/Entity.pm
Well, I feel quite silly. I had forgotten I had tried to up the number of leading and following frames, to make sure I captured all of the lobby activity preceeding and following an alarm state. In particular, I had bumped up the Pre Event Image Buffer and Post Event Image Buffer to 90 and 120 ...

Re: Can't locate MIME/Entity.pm
I just had an event that might shed some light on this... Any reason why I would start getting MySQL server syntax errors like this? I don't believe I've changed anything that should have affected the database at all. ov 5 06:24:39 [zma-m1] INF [FrontDoor: Alarm Pixels: 3098, Filter Pixels: 435 ...

Re: Can't locate MIME/Entity.pm
Hi Philip, You were right ... the problems were unrelated. I don't know how or why the module went missing, but an emerge of the appropriate perl modules eliminated all of the error messages in zmdc.log. However, I still do not see viewable events in the web interface. The events appear, but are ...

Can't locate MIME/Entity.pm
Hi, Well, I don't know what happend. I was letting zoneminder run, collecting events, and suddenly it stopped providing film clips of past events. Although it does appear the still images are captured, I can't view them either via the web interface. There is no corresponding mpeg file, or ...

Re: Archiving to external media
This would be great. Even something simple like 1) allow automatic archiving of all events, ideally with transcode capabilities to xvid/divx (mpeg4) or other high quality/low storage requirement format (each event in its own small divx/xvid file, name either based on 'event##.avi' or even better ...

Re: new features.?
A simple way to transcode the video captured into alternative formats (c.f. the excellent "transcode" utility) such as xvid (for very high quality, very low space, archiving purposes) would be fantastic. A way to set a size queue up (e.g. "we have 4.1 GB of video data stored) that would trigger ...

Zomeminder Installed and Working!
Thank you Philip for the help! I now have zoneminder installed and working. The final hurdle was actually a misunderstanding on what the term "channel" meant in context with a Hauppauge btv card. It does not refer to the broadcast channel (as I initially thought, i.e. 'channel 96' or 'channel 4' in ...

Re: 0.9.15 zmpkg: Bareword found in conditional?
Hi Philip, You were correct, I need to be putting channel 3 (fourth channel) in ... I think. In any event, it didn't have any effect on my problem. zmc is still dying, and /var/log/everything/current (gentoo/metalog equivelent of /var/log/messages) reports: ct 31 17:34:57 [zmfix] INF [Debug Level ...

Re: 0.9.15 zmpkg: Bareword found in conditional?
Hi Philip, Re your question: What you say you are trying to get it to read channel 4 do you mean as in /dev/video3 (the 4th device) or a 4th channel of /dev/video0 for example? I am trying to read channel four (4) off of the first device (/dev/video0). I have device set to 0 and channel set to 4. I ...

Re: 0.9.15 zmpkg: Bareword found in conditional?
OK, now to the third hurdle (I suspect I'm having a conversation of one, and that I am merely documenting the gotchas in trying to get zoneminder installed on a Gentoo system, but oh well). I discovered that I needed to change ownership of the log directory (/var/log/zoneminder on my machine) to ...

Re: 0.9.15 zmpkg: Bareword found in conditional?
OK, I managed to get over this hump by (re-?)running 'perl zmconfig.pl -noi'. However, when I try to start zoneminder from the web gui (or from the command line using '/usr/local/bin/zmpkg.pl start') zm fails to start. Looking at the logs I find the following messages: Executing: /usr/local/bin/zmdc ...

0.9.15 zmpkg: Bareword found in conditional?
Greetings, I have installed and configured zoneminder 0.9.15 on my Gentoo box per the instructions in the readme. I chose to do so by hand after struggling with (and getting fed up with) the 0.9.12 ebuild. In both cases (with the ebuild 0.9.12 and the manually installed 0.9.15) I am getting ...
