After a side by side test again, i2c_algo_bit does make the system boot much, much more quickly. I didn't know it was udev that suffered, but that is where mine hangs w/o i2c added. I tried your setup exactly Lee, and I still get blue screens, on both systems, which really confuses the heck out of ...

8 channel 240 FPS card on EBAY....compatible?
