Hi all, running 2.3.1 under gentoo with a 64bit machine and I get the following: Mar 13 18:50:01 kube zms[9636]: ERR [Attempt to fetch string value for ZM_USE_DEEP_STORAGE, actual type is boolean. Try running 'zmupdate.pl -f' to reload config.] Tried updating and no luck, tried fresh install (inc db ...

Door sensor
Hi all,
I'm after a recommendation on a product that can work with zoneminder (x10?) that is a recessed door sensor, ie if a door is opened it sets off an alarm to record & sets off a physical alarm.
Cheers

This works but we there are serious performance issues, mainly due to the fact that we require to record at realtime for security and one frame per minute for general users. Defining two sources locks up the cpu and delays recording, ie the timer on the source will show that it's capturing every ...

Capture every minute
Hi all, I'm looking to just use zoneminder to do a single capture from a camera every minute. Is there a command I can run with cron to achieve this? Or a full reference to what exactly each zm command does?
Cheers

Usb webcams is a bad idea. Try to use : -Old MicroATX pentium mobo ,or one of those new miniATX mobo -Use video capture card with 4 or 8 entrances -Use regular NTSC/PAL videocams (wired or wireless) I've noticed with usb -heavy cpu usage (so bad for system) -unstable -bad image ,poor quality -not ...

Cheap webcams
Hi all, I'm looking for some cheap webcams to use with Zoneminder under Gentoo, I'll need to be able to buy them from a physical shop since we're installing in the next week and we've had postal strikes in the UK. I also need something that is wall/ceiling mountable or easy to mod to make this so ...

Hi all, firstly sorry for the late reply but the whole project got put back a bit and we did leave zoneminder since we're having to run it under vmware server and there were performance issues. Anyway now back on the case. At each store we have four cameras and with regards regions there currently ...

Linking multiple zoneminder daemons
Hello all, I'm currently in the process of trialling Zone Minder for my company to monitor our retail stores, we currently have 30 stores and are quickly expanding. Our stores have their own ADSL connection and server, would it be possible to have a client on a manager's PC of a few stores in a ...
