Are you getting all of the devices in /dev/video (0,1,2,3) Also what kernel version are you running? I am running Centos 4.1 with Kernel 2.6.9-5.0.5 I've got this working both with and without an SMP kernel (2 different machines). I could send my kernel config file though I dont expect there is ...

As for the question about MMX/SSE optimized version...What I was attempting to do was to build a version of the source code that specifically made use of MMX and or SSE intrinsic subprograms within the code. GCC (at least in versions before GCC 4.0) did not contain any ability to automatically ...

Ok. This first picture is from that first camera I recommended. It is taken at 2AM. There is no "visible" light in the yard at all. http://camsrv250.home.comcast.net/house/0007-capture_dr.jpg There is an additional IR LED panel light that is helping out to some extent. The house you can see across ...

A little more info This is one of the cards I am am running: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5749981361&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT Note it does come with the ability to hook up 8 channels though if you go beyond 4 you are "sharing" a chip which means your framerate will ...

My Servers

This is less of a hint than it is just a "Here is my setup". I am posting this after receving a private message asking about it. First, for a variety of reasons, I am currently running two essentially separate (though networked) servers. The first is a Dimension 2400 Series,Intel Celeron Processor ...

Woops..Meant to say you would end up with a theoretical 15 FPS (on each channel) if you tried to use all 8 channels. And again, that is a theoretical # and actual performance per channel tends to be quite a bit less than that. So, to be clear. If I use all 4 channels on this 4 chip card, each ...

It comes with a little add on card/cable that allows for 8 different video sources to be connected but since it is a 4 chip card, the moment you begin to use the "other" 4 channels you start having to trade away Frames per second to the other channels. In theory, you get 30 FPS per chip so in theory ...

Good Night Camera

Ok..I struggled on which forum this should go under.... One thing that is tough (at least for me) is finding good quality outdoor cameras with decent night IR capability. So far the best I have found is (again, another e-bay find but possible to get from dealer directly for a few dollars more) http ...

Working Generic Card 4 port 120 FPS - Several on Ebay

I got this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5769614007&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 And all 4 channels work fine. Full speed. Using custom built Kernel with centos 4 OS (from vanilla centos 4 sources. custom kernel build just required to enable all of the V4Linux modules)

Also consider getting libjpeg-mmx and rebuilding zoneminder to use it. Since the IP cameras are shipping JPEG I would imagine that ZM has to decompress the jpegs first to do motion detection.

Blurry Right Side of video

One of my capture cards (different model than the other) appears to have degraded video quality on the right hand side of the image v.s. the left hand size. Image gets somwhat "blurry". Moving the same camera/cable to a port on another card results in a uniform (clearer) picture. Anyone ever seen ...

I just got my 4 chip card yesterday so once I reconfigure my setup a bit I'll post whether or not there appears to be a slowdown but I can say right now that with the 2 different cards (one one chip card/four channel card with one camera and one four chip card/eight channel - each with a single ...

This is nice

I was just about to post a question about this. I am having the same field order issue (not simply a time based motion interlace issue) and I was concerned that it was because I did not have my card configured properly. This looks like it is exactly what I need. I am upgrading to a 120 fps card to ...
