Hi,
The card is non branded 16 channel, using Philips SAA7130 chip.
I am new to linux, so I do not know what xawtv, modprobe, lspci and, dmesg does.
what do I do?

I just returned from holiday, sorry for not responding.
I have no images anywhere. I am using a DVR card and all drivers are showing installed correctly. The drivers listed are the same as the drivers I am using in Window’s XP pro which work fine (dual boot).

Hi, After installing ZM (Opensuse-10.2). I have no images in the montage. The windows appear. In the top left, a favicon with "new" listed next to it. Below, "Status: Idle - 0.00 fps". It actively seeks information, however, in properties it list a file size of zero. Any suggestions...

Hi, It would not let me change the max shared memory. However, I reduced the monitors to one, and whilst viewing I individually tried each camera connector. The shared memory error has now gone. There is now a new error: ERR [Failed to get camera source: Invalid argument]...

Hi. My ide cable went down knocking out my controller. Reinstalled the operating system just in case this was a cause of my faults. The installation of zm went o.k. this time. First command gives me various error codes, most of which result in; [Shared memory not initialised by capture daemon ...

Ignore that last message as I found how access the montage.
However when I pull up the display there is no image within any of the windows.
Any suggestions...

Thanks for the help! I guess when I tried to use the access link before, zm may not of been running. Only problem know is the lack of active camera action.The montage link with which to view the cameras is missing. I know the camera and card is active as I rebooted my system into xp-pro and proved ...

Hi, My apology, the message "no lockfile found" appears after I typed "rczm start", and not where I previously mentioned. I answered all with "y". It still failed. How do I run zmpkg? I typed this into the root console-nada! , bear in mind before yesterday I never used Linux.
