Keep recording event after movement finishes?
I'm sure I read somewhere that it was possible to set the length of time that zoneminder continues to record an event after all movement has finished. I've been through the entire set of config screens and can't see anything. :? At the moment I'm getting lots of individual events for what is ...

ZMA not starting in modetect?
Hi all, Been scratching my head to work out why I'm getting no events generated. Finally realised the zma daemon was never started no matter what mode I select for my monitor. I tried manually starting with: zma -m 1 and sure enough, when I waved in front of the camera I got events! Only problem was ...

Thanks for your comments. Sounds like it's going to be a bit of a mare but I guess that's the best way to learn! Been reading up a bit on the Fedora rpm and it seems that ffmpeg wasn't included as the licensing goes against Fedora's philosophy. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to have a bash at ...

Right, I've searched the forums for this error, and see that it's because my copy of ZM wasn't built for mpeg support, or it couldn't find some libraries. I'm a fair newbie to Linux, so I just installed ZM as an RPM. Does this mean I have to build ZM myself in order to get streaming working? :( Is ...

Black screens when trying to stream asf or swf
Am making slow progress with my install on Fedora... Test camera is now working fine using MJPEG or JPEG. However, when I try and stream asf or swf, I just get a black screen. The browser is definately expecting the correct format, as it loads media player, or Flash appropriately. I have installed ...

Fedora install - no zminit?
Wanna try ZM, but have fallen at the first hurdle  Have installed the ZM 1.22.3-7.fc7.i386 RPM via yum. Installed apache and mysql no worries. Following the install instructions in the docs, it says I need to run: /usr/lib/zm/bin/zminit in order to create the zm database. Problem is, I don't ...

Ah! No matter. I've just found this in the docs which answers a lot of my questions. MPEG video streaming. ZoneMinder now supports true video streaming if configured with the –with-ffmpeg option. This allows one or both of live or event streaming to be in this format rather than motion JPEG style as ...

How does ZoneMinder display MPEG streams in a browser?
I am looking at using Zone Minder to let me access my CCTV cameras from work, but just wondered how MPEG streams are displayed in the browser? I see that MJPEG is natively supported, or supported via Java appletts such as Cambozola, but how is MPEG supported? Is it another Java applett? An Active-X ...
