Thanks RMO, that did the trick!
However, I'm still having the problem that I cannot seem to get the motion detection working. It was working fine for like 2 weeks...then then I moved one of my cameras...both cameras stopped detecting motion.

My camera looks down the path to my house...and out onto a street. Lots of cars drive by my house so I end up with a ton of events during a day (well I did until my recent problems of NO events being recorded...but I'm hoping to solve that problem). Anyway, within the frame, I have 9 different zones ...

My Zoneminder installation seems to be imploding. This morning I woke up to find this error when I boot up the ZM console: Can't open file: 'Events.MYI'. (errno: 145) Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /var/www/localhost/htdocs/zm/zm_html_view ...

Streaming video/camera does not appear in the browser
I've had this problem happen several times. I click on a camera in the console, and the camera window appears but the streaming video does not (it appears as a broken image). If I set the size to 1.5 or anything else the streaming video will appear. Switching back to actual size will not work. I'm ...

Zone Dialog Bug
I've been making changes to my zones (see my other thread) and I've been able to reproduce a minor bug. To reproduce: 1. Make a zone of type blob. 2. set the options 3. change the type to "Active Pixels" (some settings will grey) 4. Make changes to your Active pixels settings. You're be able to get ...

What are the default zone settings for a new Motion Zone?
Let me start by saying that I HAD Zoneminder working fine (although it is still filling my hard drive with events). I moved a camera, and deleted all my zones. Now that Im starting over, when I create a new zone it creates a zone of type "ActivePixels". Here is what I get as a default new zone: http ...

I've done this, followed your directions (and the directions in the FAQ) and created a PurgewhenFull filter. and checked the "delete files" item in the next window that appears. But my drive appears to still be filling with events and JPG's. I know have 8440 event over the last week, placed in 3 ...

Zone listed in the events table
I have some very important zones, and I'd like a way to sort out the events that happen in those zones quickly. I'd prefer you replace the "cause" column" with a column labled "zone"

Well here is an example of a screen capture from my camera: http://www.zaske.com/camtest.jpg Like Lazy, I prefer to have a higher resolution then motion but with poor quality. I'll search the forums, but can anyone suggest a good outdoor nightvision camera with good/great quality? Hopefully without ...

Are old photos/captures events eating my hard drive?
Since I'm new to Zoneminder...and just now starting to understand it...I have this hunch that I am filling up my hard drive with these captured events. I noticed a option set somewhere that said something like "To speed operation, delete events from the SQL database only". If I have this set, am I ...

better quality captures?
Okay, I have Zoneminder up and running, and I'm trying to improve the quality of my video captures. Here are my questions: Is 352x288 usually the highest quality capture people do? My card doesnt seem to like higher. Is there a way to determine what "rez's" my camera and card with support? My ...

Kodicom 4400R
I purchased this generic 4 chip DVR card on Ebay. It turned out to be a card from Kodicom, called the 4400R. It has 4 878A chips, but is not yet support by the BTTV drivers in Video4Linux. However, here are the steps to get the card working. 1) Download the latest v4l snapshot from bytesex.org - at ...

After another late nite at this (boy those hardware based DVR's are starting to look nice). I'm close to getting ZM installed. I was able to login to the ZM PHP files, and create monitors. Unfortunately, I could never get a picture from my video capture card. I have a Kodicom 4400R video capture ...
