Great idéa and Phil, you already have one, sort of. When i saw that you got a Elphel camera a couple of years ago i hoped that it eventually would lead to something like this, maybe not a full 360 degree but something that could make use of a Megapixel-camera to cover larger areas without loosing to ...

Camera surveillance guidelines
The Swedish police together with with some other organisations has set up a document with guidelines for cctv surveillance systems. Some parts of the document is only of interest to Swedes since it covers Swedish law. But other parts might be of use to anyone, like the test-chart that is useful for ...

Interesting project. I guess if you want to go with zoneminder, a setup with several strategically placed alarmzones that triggers and/or direct the "water-canon" might be easiest, not very accurate unless you have alot of zones. alt2 is a 10 centimeter (or so) high electric fence around the pond ...

Yes it would be useful, but i guess you delete old events to make place for new ones, a trashbin funktion still need to store the events somewhere, so let the PurgeWhenFull filter do the job of deleting events when needed and adjust size of storage by adding new disks to control how long events are ...

Why bother with packaging at all? a sh-script that helps a new user with the settings in configure and runs zmconfig.pl , creates or upgrades the db and so on would be great or you could change approach entirely, start the installation by copying ZoneMinder to the webfolder it will be running from ...

There migh be a very very crude but simple method to solve this. without researching any fact i'll throw you a plausible solution. :) If you change the criteria to that the weel hasn't "rested" for 1 1/2 days or something like that, it might be possible to set up a filter-rule that calls for your ...

Adding realtime reactions to events in a more generic way is on the to-do list by the way. Phil Great! Then it will be a bit easier to make a track/zoom feature via alarmzones, i only have to split a image into lets say 3x3 zones, each one triggering a gotopreset that is zoomed in at the triggering ...

The sync issues of getting a ptz camera on tour to look for movement in a particular location after the event are immense. That is the easy part, just name the "reason" for the event "preset 1" for preset 1 and so on, and then filter the events on that, you would need a mask that cover the entire ...

Yes, exactly - it is the point. Store everything, zoom in later. Andrey Yes! i do not know alot about how other people use camera-surveilllance but i guess most people do not look at the cameras all the time, they like me do check events. witch bring us back to another topic, the ability to rerun ...
