It doesn't happen when the hyphen is removed from the password. No biggie, I just change the password, but thought you'd like a heads-up on a minor bug!

Problem: Remote IP camera - password includes a hyphen

It seems that there is a problem with the Javascript validation when you goto enter a password into the camera source for a remote IP camera.

eg: user:password-with-hyphen@[ip address]

throws a javascript validation message "Source must be set to a valid ip address or hostname..."

2 Axis 206W's and 2 D-Link DCS-2100+'s.

The D-Link are crap, the Axis cameras rock... see http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4523 for a more detailed opinion!

Login above does not work now...

BTW: Anyone looking for a firewall - look at webmin.com and install. Then install the turtlefirewall.com plugin. Very good!

Small thing to anyone confused by patching:

Apply the patch to:

[ZM-source-dir]

and not to

[ZM-source-dir]/src

(Nice work Phil! One of the best supported pieces of software I've ever come across.)

Both 'flip' options are fine as are 'inverted'. Rotate throws a wobbly: If I rotate and do not change the image resolution, I get a broken image and the following errors in zmdc.log: Starting pending process, zmc -m 11 'zmc -m 11' started at 05/07/08 14:53:16 'zmc -m 11' starting at 05/07/08 14:53 ...

I've already restarted ZM after every change. When I changed the shared memory I used echo 157286400 >/proc/sys/kernel/shmall echo 157286400 >/proc/sys/kernel/shmmax as well as making the change in sysctl.conf (following the advice in http://www.zoneminder.com/index.php?id=41&backPID=33&tx_faq_faq ...

Shared Memory problem - zmc dies

Here goes: (I've looked at the FAQ but perhaps I'm missing something.) I was doing great until I added an extra Axis 206W to my network. When I added the extra camera I started to get problems with the two Axis Cameras. The image in the camera monitor kept flicking back and forth between the two ...

Re: D-Link DCS-2100+ / Biostar Barebones iDEQ 200N / CentOS

My first thoughts on the cameras is that I should have got an Axis model that supports a Linux client. I would avoid D-Link link the plague in future until such a time as they support Linux. (I don't understand them, it's Linux running on the bloody camera, but they won't support a linux client ...

I have a DCS-1000W and you can get video by specifying video.cgi as the path, or it may be VIDEO.CGI I can't remember. I tried that, and all permutations of UPPER and lower case with and without the "cgi-bin" path. Solved: Check the http version Zoneminder is using. DLink require 1.0 and ZM ...

RedHat/CentOS startup/shutdown script (chkconfig)

Problem: The supplied zm script for startup and shutdown was being invoked a bit late on a stock CentOS 3.4 box. Basically MySQL is being shutdown before Zoneminder and this was causing Zoneminder to choke when it tried to access the closed database, leading to problems umounting disks prior to ...

DCS-2100+

You can use: http://<user>:<pass>@<camera address>/cgi-bin/video.jpg to get images. Remote Host Name is "<camera address>" or "<user>:<pass>@<camera address>" if you are using authentication. Remote Host Path is "/cgi-bin/video.jpg" Make sure the path is EXACTLY as above. Personally I would avoid ...
