Okay, you are absolutely right there is an issue with your card not being initialized properly. Which kernel are you running? To find out you can run uname -r This shouldn't be an issue but let's not overlook anything. Edit: You might also try following this thread: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums ...

Well, for us to be able to figure out whats not working, we need a little more info. If I had to guess, my money is on your OS not correctly detecting your video capture board. 1. Which Video Capture board are you using? (ie, brand, model #) 1a. Post the ouput of dmesg | grep bttv 2. Post the output ...

PHP error
Okay, I am pretty certain you will want to edit the php.ini located here: /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini Since you have already done so, lets verify that the changes have indeed been accepted. Somewhere in your www root create a file called info.php Insert this code: <?php phpinfo(); ?> Now browse to ...

agree with cordel
I have to agree with cordel, this is a php configuration issue. You need to edit your php.ini file and add/modify the following setting: memory_limit = 32M Most likely it is currently set to 16M or possibly even 8M depending on your OS and PHP version installed. As to where your php.ini file is ...

USB Cam issue
I am not so sure it's something other than ZM. ZM and Linux in general have some shortcomings dealing with USB Cameras. I personally have tried three different webcams with only limited success. I believe this is going to be a linux webcam driver issue combined with a ZM issue. There has been ...

More Info Needed
The error you are seeing is a PHP error. Most likely because you have PHP 5.3 installed. This is not why your ZM installation is failing. I think we will need a little more info to solve your issue. 1. Which Webcam are you using? 2. Post the output of lsusb and lspci 3. What happens when you run the ...

If you want a standalone intrusion detection system, you're gonna need some hardware.. Grab a kit from HERE or from http://www.youralarmstore.com/ . Then you can do all the opensource installing you want. With the DSC Power 832 systems, you can either program it via the keypad (which is a PITA) or ...

It's Working!
Just a quick shout out to thank everyone here and to list my hardware.. After beating my head against the wall for several days trying to configure an ancient 16port generic card with no success, I ordered a pv-155 from Bluecherry. Stuck it in, booted up, all 4 cams working like a champ. I have the ...
