Re: ZM & eyeZM & Thumbnails

In my case I think it was down to ownership and permissions. I ended up deleting the contents of the events and images directory and forcing it to create new ones as i think my previous install had been set up slightly different. Once the new locations were created it started working again. I also s...

Re: Multiple camera causing issues

Under options > config is the following option: Use more than one buffer for Video 4 Linux devices (?) I have unchecked it and restarted ZM and it seems to have resolved the problem. Click the ? icon when you are on the settings page and it explains what the option does and what your problem could b...

ZM & eyeZM & Thumbnails

I have upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 x64 server edition as a fresh install and installed ZM from the repositories. Everything appears to be working correctly including ZM. I have had eyeZM on my iPad for sometime and previously had no issues. However since my server upgrade, I am unable to see thumbnails...

Re: Strange /dev/video permission errors

Thank you - I will try that.

Since my post and today I have not had a problem with it in any case. There have been a number of alerts on the camera so I know it is working. I will keep an eye on it and see how it goes.

Thanks again

Strange /dev/video permission errors

I have ZM 1.25.0 installed on Ubuntu 10.04 x64 server edition and it has been working perfectly. I use a generic BT878 capture card which had two cameras plugged into it. As the frame rate was low I got hold of a second BT878 generic capture card and again it just seemed to plug and play  BUT, ...

Hi

Have you tried looking here and creating a file in your /etc/modprobe.d?

Re: No Picture To Create Zones With / Source Is In Orange

It would help if you included what system you have installed on and what process you used to install (from source, a package etc) etc (read the first post in this forum) On the face of it based on what you have said, it may be a permissions issue and zoneminder has not been able to create the releva...

It was the short tags - Thankyou.

I realised that I had changed them after a problem with munin. For some reason it took a reboot before it started to affect zoneminder.

All fixed now :D

Thanks for putting this together. I have tried to compile from source in the past and run into all sorts of bother.

One quick question though, is this version compiled with memory map enabled or does it still use the memory settings in sysctl.conf?

Thanks

apt-get or from source?

I am about to reinstall my server and zoneminder. I will be using Ubuntu 9.10 (or even 10.04) and have so far followed one of the numerous guides to install ZM from source. I was wondering what advantage, if any, this gives me over installing via apt-get. As I see it, apt-get gives me the massive ad...

I am getting exactly the same error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /var/www/zm/includes/functions.php on line 2333

One day all was working fine and the next this!

Any ideas, suggestions?

No Colour, no matter what...

This follows on from a previous post of mine http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15577 but is a different problem so I thought a new post would be more relevant. My set up, for those that have not seen my other post, is as follows: Athlon X2 4200 cpu 2Gb RAM Generic BT878 card ( http://...

Thats the funny thing - I always used to use V4L set as PAL and it worked just fine. V4L does now not work and gives the 'rolling' image and the only way I have been able to resolve it to set V4L2 and PAL Nc.

Well I have managed to resolve the problem. I have had to set the device format to PAL Nc. No idea why as with the old setup, PAL worked as standard and I have not changed either the camera or the capture card. Must be something to do with the way that Ubuntu 9.10 differs from 8.04?? Any way, I now ...

I tried both restarting ZM and the PC. I have also tried the options in that thread which is even more frustrating because as far as I can remember, it worked then!

The only real difference is that I was using Ubuntu 8.04 then and 9.10 now - I guess that is going to have to be my net step.
