Re: Problems installing 1.34 on Debian Buster

I neglected to mention that I am using backports (needed the Intel 630 driver) and so am running a 5.x kernel etc. In the absence of anything else obvious, I will assume that is causing the issue.

I wonder if switching to 1.36 would help...

Problems installing 1.34 on Debian Buster

Installed Debian Buster from scratch. Followed the instructions for Buster at https://zoneminder.readthedocs.io/en/latest/installationguide/debian.html (more or less - didn't install mySQL in the hopes that the already-installed mariadb would suffice). sudo apt install zoneminder barfs quite ...

Re: No streaming with sock errors

In my case, all I had to do was drop the database and reinitialize it.

Re: No streaming with sock errors

I have a similar problem, but it only happens when the monitor settings ask for 24-bit colour. 8-bit grayscale works fine.

(24-bit colour used to work fine too [prior to the latest update]....; 32-bit colour gives lack of memory messages.)

Frame skip interferes with fast forward

Have ZoneMinder-MP-1.25.0-47.1.x86_64 installed, blew away the database and recreated it. If Monitor/Misc/Frame Skip is zero, fast forward on replay of events works as expected - video is smooth but sped up. If Monitor/Misc/Frame Skip is nonzero (4, in my case), fast forward on replay of events has ...

Don't count archived events in "events" column on console?

Just upgraded from 1.22.x. Am used to archived events not showing up in the count of events (leftmost column of counts) on console window. Now they do. Is there a way to exclude them?

Thx

Subdirectory names in ZM_DIR_EVENTS

There is a subdirectory under ZM_DIR_EVENTS for each monitor (camera), with both numbers and softlinks with the monitor names. In the directory for a particular camera, events are placed in subdirectories whose names are 6-digit numbers (e.g., $ ls /var/cache/zoneminder/events/Parking_lot 109227 ...

Mocord stills list shows all frames, not just alarmed ones

I recently upgraded from an older version (1.21.x?) to 1.22.3. I have a mocord camera with two zones. With the older version, if I look at an event that has alarm frames and switch to stills, the window just shows the alarmed frames (plus a few on either side of the alarm) and each alarmed frame is ...

Changing to plain authorization (Options/System ZM_CONFIG_USE_AUTH checked, ZM_AUTH_RELAY set to plain) seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks again.

Thank you both, this sounds quite promising.

What does "setting authorization to plain" mean exaclty?

Broken images with Ubuntu 7.10 ZM 1.22.3 package

I installed the zoneminder package using adept from the universe/net section and set everything up but all I get for images (still or motion) is broken image links.... I'm using D-Link DCS-900 webcams. Everything works just fine on an openSuSE 10.1 box, so obviously I've misconfigured something or ...

Fix for blank page for zm.php on SuSE 10.1

One thing I haven't seen mentioned on the various SuSE 10.1 threads - you'll get a blank page when you open zm.php if you don't have the php5_mysql and php5_mysqli packages installed. (Both may not be necessary, but when I put them both in things worked.) The error message in /var/log/apache2/error ...

Other settings

I have all the other settings as relaxed as possible (e.g., minpixel=0, maxpixel=255, min alarmed area=0%, max alarmed area=100%) in order to be able to determine the effect of the filter settings by themselves. I understand this is not the way things should be done in reality. Thanks for your post ...

What do "filter width" and "filter height&quo

I am a newbie, and so far I can only seem to get Modect to operate in one of two modes - either the camera stays in a permanent state of alarm, or it stays in a permanet state of idle. I clearly do not understand what all the knobs really do... I am experimenting with a single DCS-900 between 6 and ...
