Re: 1.25.0 - Ubuntu Desktop (11.10) - Install DVD (32 & 64-b
A couple years ago I built linux from scratch and zoneminder and all deps. Well the disk just crashed and I was too lazy to redo everything so I tried this dvd and it is great. Here are a couple things: If you want to move the location of your mysql database, ubuntu uses this horrible security crap ...

X seconds of motion to trigger alarm?
I want to monitor my mailbox, but every car driving by goes behind it and triggers an alarm. Is there some way to set the motion detection so it needs say at least 1 second of motion in the zone before an alarm is triggered?
Thanks,

Re: ['zmc -m 1' crashed, signal 6]
turn up logging level in the options and then look at the log again. you could also run "strace -f zmc -m 1" from the command line and see what happens.
good luck

I increased ram for the VM to 1.4 gig. I also tried these # cat /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax 4194304000 cat /proc/sys/kernel/shmall 2048000 Still getting the same error in the log. And it doesn't matter if the resolution is higher or lower, I still get the same issue. The only thing that works is 320x240 ...

I have zm 1.24.2 (from the arch livecd install), using it with a aviosys 9100a and Q-See QSC48030 cam, just using monitor mode. If I set the 9100a to do 320x240, and I set zm for the same, (source type remote, give path to jpg and IP address of the 9100a), then everything works fine. If I change the ...

couldn't get tvtime to build. xawtv -nodga (had to use that option to even run) says: v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway and the window is just black. So I guess v4l doesn't work. I enabled it in the kernel, not sure what else to do. Here are some kernel configs: CONFIG_VIDEO_DEV=y ...

A million pages of docs and troubleshooting and wikis and release notes and nobody can be bothered to say what linux kernel version 1.23.3 works with?
