Ill take a look at both of those thanks.... the really weird thing is, I have a Zoneminder livecd from years ago... ZM 1.22.1 running on a 2006 Mandrake and it works great!! I tried comparing the settings but its just crazy. One other thing is, if I reboot, I lose the Video0 to Video7 from /devs ...

I feel Im so close... Re installed Ubuntu this time, left the card in during install and now its detected and I have the Viedo0 files etc in devs, thanks for your post anyway

Hello, Im trying to setup a 21 camera system using zoneminder. The problem I am getting is some cameras...if theres motion... it displays black lines all across where the motion is. What would be causing this? Im using 2xpv149 (i believe?) cards from bluecherry they each have 8 outputs... with 8 ...

I just got rid of my x10 cameras.. firstly you would need 2 receivers. 1 on each camera so you can see then both at the same time. secondly, a capture card. for the money you are saying you could get 2 semi decent day night cams from eBay.
