So this is still frustrating. I need to run zmaudit.pl manually after deleting stuff manually using the PurgeWhenFull Filter in order to recover disk space. Plus the fact that the PurgeWhenFull Filter does run it doesn't actually recover the disk space, which it is supposed to. Since zmfilter.pl is ...

How do you tell zoneminder to check for events that are not in the DB but remain on disk to delete them now? I'm in a situation where I'm trying to upgrade the base OS, need to free up about 500MB, and the PurgeWhenFull isn't helping because although I've purged about 1000 entries, they remain on ...

Network Still Cameras? Remote wireless cameras?
I'm interested in combining motion detection from a regular network camera with a higher resolution still camera. Think of it as my own little speed trap. I want to capture the front or rear of the car in higher resolution after it has triggered a motion in one of the zones I've set up for the other ...

Upon further review, I suppose I can set up my zones to be in the correct perspective as the camera view. I need to think about it a bit more, because if I change the perspective of the zones, I'll have to change my distance calculations which were modified to account for the fact that the camera ...

I think I have a solution!
There really isn't much more to do, other than write a cron job after the fact to hit the DB and extract the data. I'll write the code eventually, and maybe we can even integrate it into the base code and have a GUI for it. Since it only applies to cameras facing a street perpendicularly, and relies ...

Frame Page/Popup UI Improvements
The Frame UI might be underused, but it looks like a great tool to help tweak Alarmed Pixel settings. A few options would be nice here. Better, bigger buttons rather than text labels. Though I can increase the font size, and FF will remember, buttons would be easier to click. Model them after the ...

Play filtered events in order during Gapless Events Playback
I love the filters. Unfortunately what I want to do is first filter the list of events, then watch only those events. The filter works great -- I can filter by motion zone, then watch just those events. But when I click on the Events.Name I want to start watching from, Gapless Events Playback plays ...

I think my biggest problem will be the alarmed pixel threshold, making sure the alarm is set off first, then making sure the Stats get written and are very accurate. Once I get things working, I'll have to do some tests! From the looks of it I can find the Events that have Motion in the right zones ...

Using ZoneMinder to determine vehicle speed
I've got two kids on a street that is often used as a cut-through. Most people drive nicely, but some people fly through here 10mph+ over 25mph and are on their cell phone. All it takes is for my kid just once to go into the street when they come through and boom -- my kid is dead or in the hospital ...

*laugh* you crack me up coke! Anyway, found a D-Link DCS-900 on eBay for $67 shipped, decided to go for it. The DCS-910 is its replacement, and on specs alone, might have been a better choice. But wasn't interested in being the guinea pig. Anyone know if the DCS-910 works with ZM? Looks like the 910 ...

I too am interested if the DCS-910 works with ZM. It seems to be the new version of the DCS-900, but who knows what they did to it.

i can seriously recommend axis.. but then it does work well but have you looked at the y-cam black? Man, this can get expensive quick! Maybe I just need to pick something up cheap, upgrade later. The DCS-900 seems reasonable for my needs I think. The y-cam looks great, but at $275 + shipping, not ...

I wouldn't rush on the 207 unless you can borrow one. 221 on the other hand, can see better in the dark (in color) than I can. But that one's $900. Gah! What about some of those sub-$200 PTZ with IR LED's? If I also got an IR lamp that was on at night, would that help? Then again, I don't know what ...

I'm a fan of Axis 207's, but the low-light quality isn't great. Depends really on how near the street-light is. Closest is 150-200 feet away, and mostly obscured by a tree. The other is another 300 feet up the street. My neighbors next door leave their porch light on all night though. I would have ...
