Window auto resize

One thing I never complete understood from this great application is that zm keep insisting on resizing my window every once in a while or when I logged in. There must be a reason for it?

Keep up the good work guys.

I did an upgrade via rpm to version 1.22 and it replace the symblic link cgi-bin with the real files. I don't know what happened during the live cd installed but it seems to have created the sybolic link instead of the actual files.

After some further invetigating, I think the installation from the LiveCd is flawed or something. The files from /var/www/cgi-bin are missing and instead there is some sort of a symblic link which leads to no where. Am i correct in assuming that? I know I didn't delete anything, the only settings I ...

My installation of zoneminder got attacked today!

Look at the log below, there are hundreds of entries like it. I can't believe it. I had to shut down my ssh server. Is there a way for me to limit access by ip address? Apr 2 06:11:05 zm sshd[20312]: Invalid user library from 139.18.18.4 Apr 2 06:11:05 zm sshd[20312]: error: Could not get shadow ...

I finally got urpmi to run, I deleted the rpm and urpmi link under /var/lib/ which was the culprit to the database lock. I then created a folder rpm and urpmi and then I ran, sudo -vv --rebuilddb. This seems to do the trick, not sure why but it works. Now I have to figure out how to install sendmail ...

Well, I found others who had the same problem but they were able to delete the locked file or reboot the computer and everything were fine. The referenced deleting: /var/lib/urpmi/.RPMLOCK /var/lib/urpmi/.LOCK or cd /var/lib/rpm rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db* rpm -vv --rebuilddb or #killall urpmi urpmi ...

sendmail or sendmail.postfix

For the life of me, i cannot find these functions anywhere on the latest live cd with Zoneminder 1.21.4. I search various posts and sendmail.postfix were mentioned, but I can't find this anywhere. Is this already on the default installation, if not, can you give me the easiest path for me to add ...

Configuring DHCP

Hi All, I just wanted to added that I figure out a way to add DHCP to the wireless setup. This seems to be the only way that works for me. I had to go under System>Configuration>Hardware>Hardrake>MA111, then run the config tools under this gui interface. It doesn't seem to work if I was to configure ...

Hi Ross, Thanks for looking up the reference for me, the one on configuration101.html was most helpful. It confirmed what I was doing. It needed a reboot for the WEP to work, which I didn't do the first time. I was able to get the WEP to work but still not the DHCP to work. I don't care though, as ...

Hi Ross, Thank you for your reply to my post. You are most helpful!! Yes you are right, the driver is already included in the distribution. I installed the tools as you suggested. Once the tool was installed, it created the directory under wlan under "/etc/". 1. Went to /etc/wlan/ 2. copied wlancfg ...

source files for LiveCD installation / driver for MA111 USB

Hi All, Ok - I am a noob to Linux and I am trying to setup the NetGear wireless-b USB MA111 on the ZM LiveCD installation with the wlan-ng driver. When I tried to compile the driver, it needs the linux kernel source--I don't know where this is at on the system. It seems to look for in "usr/src/linux ...
