I was wondering if you have any way of simulating a channel. I wanted to put together a test environment at work, but dynamode et al won't lend me a camera for trial purposes.
I figured if i could simulate a camera i could demonstrate easier.

I found it helped me with library problems to use Apt for RPM. http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/ I had the same problem as you Thomas, but after running apt-get install mysql-devel ffmpeg and executing the ./configure again, everything compiled smoothly.
