Re: Excessive use of RAM
Archive here https://launchpad.net/~iconnor/+ppa-packages Grab your previous version. I've really never done this - I understand I have to install a previous package version, but when I run: apt list -a zoneminder I get only: zoneminder/bionic,now 1.35.18~20210224135011-bionic amd64 [installed] I ...

I've always just updated and it mostly worked... Any idea how to downgrade to 1.35.16? I'm running Ubuntu server.

Re: Excessive use of RAM
Thank you for your reply!
Bleeding edge, but it used to work!
I've tried similar buffer settings and the issue persists... Never used Slack - link to your channel?

Excessive use of RAM
Hello, I just read through this one, which seems to describe a similar issue: https://forums.zoneminder.com/posting.php?mode=post&f=42 Running any camera eats up all available RAM, then the computer starts swapping and slows down to a crawl. I've tried a multitude of different buffer settings ...

Problems since last two updates
Hello, I spotted several problems from the last two updates: - Events for each camera show thousands of events. When I click on Events, I see only 25 events, which are old and the content is missing (no video) - I can't even delete them. If I go to Montage Review, everything shows as it should. on ...

I've found that using ffmpeg with the latest version of ZoneMinder is a somewhat better choice than using static jpegs - at 640x480 I get 4 fps at night and 8 fps during the day. In Windows this camera is capable of a little more fps, so I believe there's room for improvement. Concerning the scripts ...

Thank you for replying. I've successfully compiled 1.24.0, but I have trouble setting it up (mysql, etc.) - not really such an advanced user as I wish to be. I'll read through the documentation and will try to set it up. Starting to think that it's easier to use Windows (oh no! :D). Thank you again ...

Gentlemen, forgive me for being new to the ZoneMinder (i.e. asking stupid questions), but how do I exactly use this in an already compiled version, such as the one used in Ubuntu (from reps)? I have a camera with an mjpegb (yuvj422p) stream that I can view with ffmpeg/ffplay. Since using mjpeg gives ...

That's the script I was referring to, yes. But it still doesn't explain why I get higher fps in the cam's webserver than I do in ZM, which is strange. Did you take a look at the stream it outputs when using: <IP>/cgi-bin/ Try hitting F5 three-four times to see what I mean: http://r02.no-ip.org:8090 ...

Thanks :) You should be able to view the camera yourself from the link I've provided. Here it is again . The direct link from the image is: <IP>/image.jpg?cachebust=1579693&a=0 The value of cachebust changes, but the javascript used for that is available in one of the page sources on the camera's ...

Thank you from replying cordel - I see you are the guru on the forum, so I really appreciate it. First help us out a bit here, whats the camera? That would be interesting for me as well - bought it from a Chinese website as IP-400, but then discovered it on the net as LTI-510 . My guess would be ...

Low FPS With JPG Streaming IP Camera
Hey, guys, Not sure if I used the right terminology in the title, but the problem comes when using my IP camera with ZM. The camera outputs a direct <IP>/image.jpg, but when viewed in ZM the FPS is much slower than when viewed directly in the camera's webserver. There is no consistent way to measure ...
