If you want and the system is accessable online you can PM me the ssh info and I can take a look. Hey! Thanks for the offer, but you're west coast and I'm 9 hours ahead I think, so perhaps over Easter, if I haven't got it going by then - But I'm sure I will... It's something I've not got quite ...

I had similar errors when I changed ZM_EVENT_IMAGE_DIGITS (How many significant digits are used in event image numbering). The events recorded with the old setting were't viewable anymore. It was 3 and I changed it to 5. Neither had any effect. :( Do the files e.g. /var/www/localhost/htdocs ...

Can't view event pics

Everything seems to be going well, with a monitor configured, green and viewable. A zone has been configured and triggers events. The problem is that the events are not viewable. I can see a number of boxes, some of them with a red outline but all of them contain a red X in the top left corner. The ...

Upon boot, /dev/video0 has rwxrwxrwx rights bit the camera shows red in zoneminder. However, if I chmod 777 /dev/video0 and then re-start zoneminder it all works.

Weird!!

I installed Gentoo 2006.1 and it's fully patched.

Hey ho!

FIXED (sort of) RED /dev/video0

I'm amazed I got this far. I've spent the day installing Zoneminder on Gentoo 2.6.19r5. Everything seems ok, as fdar as I can tell, but the Philips webcam on /dev/video0 is permanently red  The Webcam seems to be seen by the kernel and loaded but the source starys RED all the time. I don't have ...

It seems it's likely to be the epcam driver as this is still 'alpha' code according to the developer. http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdr.php?id=57 I just don't have the knowledge or time to figure it out any further, so I'll just wait for pay day and get a proper setup. Thanks for all the help ...

Help with USB Webcam

I think the answers going to be 'Buy a capture card and do it properly' but I thought I'd ask, just incase. I've a Creative PD1001 USB webcam and I can't get it to work in ZM (black screen in Monitor) It seems to be seen ok:- [user user]$ sudo -u root zmu -d /dev/video0 -q -v Video Capabilities Name ...

I can't take any credit for the logs - I just put in what others had in other posts. Guess I got lucky  http://www.aiyamicro.com/pc-parts-peripherals/computer-parts-cameras-webcams.htm shows that the resolution is 320x240 or thereabouts, so I'll try that tomorrow. (Don't know why it says ...

Can't get USB Webcam working

I've run the live cd 1.20 and all went ok until I added my first monitor. I upgraded to the 1.21.2 RPM and the same happened. So I re-formatted, re-installed and got the same. The 'video' shows up as a 'broken link' in firefox. I don't know how to do screen grabs yet... [user user]$ sudo -u root zmu ...

I've had this today when installing over a previous install. I found I had to use the advanced disk config options to remove any partitions and then create new ones in the live CD setup.

Good luck.
