Hi mitch, Just wondering mate, do you know whether your solution to get the mjepg stream also works with the TV-IP110W ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16881102017 )? The reason I ask is because newegg cancelled my orders because I'm from Australia, and they don't accept ...

Great information there cordel! I'll look forward to your test results regarding the power consumption. I'm glad to hear that you have a few of these IR300 illuminators. Sounds like they could do a decent job. Before I splash out and buy a few of these (I'm thinking of buying 4, 2 for the front yard ...

Hi cordel, Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to hear that there is no difference. 1. Just curious, could you point me to a link online to the IR illuminator that you have, in particular the 850mn one. Just wondering which one you have. 2. What do you think of these IR illuminators: http://www ...

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Let's say the IP312W camera does indeed radiate infrared at a wavelength of 850nm. Would it still be able to see quite clearly infrared that's emitted at 840nm? If so, how much does the brightness or responsiveness decrease by?

Hi Aaron,

Just wondering mate, can you suggest any good Ethernet or USB cameras that I can connect to the ASUS 520GU, and that will also work with Zoneminder?

1. No the cameras can always see IR sources even in 'day' mode. Just wanted to ask about your answer above. If this is true, does this mean that any ordinary camera would be able to pick up IR sources? For example, would I be able to buy a cheap Logitech webcam and get that to see in the dark by ...

Thanks mitch. 1. I'm assuming that if the camera is in 'day mode', then it wouldn't be able to see any IR illumination right? You'd have to turn on 'night mode' manually for it to be able to detect it. 2. Do you the wavelength of the infrared light that the IP312W emits? 3. What do you think of ...

@coke: The area I would like to capture is my front yard primarily, which is around 10m x 8m. But I'd also like the illumination to reach slightly beyond that, i.e. on the footpath and on the road, and perhaps our neighbours on the other side of the road (cos they're some suspicious people ...

Another thing I wanted to ask you mitch in relation to my previous post is whether this infrared light can be seen by the human eye, in dark conditions. I've read about near infrared and buying cameras that fall within the 950nm category to be more covert, but in your experience with using the ...

Hi mitch,

Just wondering, do you happen to know the wavelength of the infrared light from this camera?

Night vision cameras

Hello all, Just wondering if there are any wireless IP cameras out there that have night vision capability, but does not necessarily carry onboard infrared LEDs? Basically, I'm looking for a camera that can switch to night vision using a sensor, but relies on an external IR source to illuminate the ...

Mate you are an absolute legend! That is very promising indeed. I can't wait to try it out now! I'm extremely excited! Now if only the cameras would arrive in the next week or so! Right... I'll try to calm myself down now, enough so I can also thank you for your feedback on my other questions ...
