Uncheck "ZM_STRICT_VIDEO_CONFIG" in options - config. that takes care of the xawtv "problem".

I think that can be done in the ./configure --options to if im not mistaken.

Would it be possible to add a checkbox to compress the created video file so it would ask where to save the file instead of starting a browser player plug-in when a video file is created? Ah. so i solved the problem... for some reason it did not import the data to the database...

try to run "perl ./zmconfig.pl -noi" some more untill you get the data in to the tables.

Are you using FFmpeg version 0.4.9-pre1? trye to use FFmpeg version 0.4.8 in stead. I had similar problems with 0.4.9-pre1.
