Still no luck with this. I've tried the suggestions above and verified settings with AllenTuttle's configuration. During my troubleshooting, I have tried Centos ZM 1.25 and 1.24 and also on Ubuntu with ZM 1.25. Each time I still get the errors above. Can anyone else offer some suggestions?

As an update to this, I have set up a second server running ZM 1.25 using Ubuntu 11.04 as opposed to CentOS in my previous post. I am still unable to control the PTZ. I get the exact same error in the log as above. Can't stat : No such file or directory.

Any ideas?

Running CentOS 5.5 here, changing to AUTH_RELAY to plain worked for me. I just had to restart ZM service and log out of the current ZM user.

Another option is TotalControlApp, i've tested the Demo version on my Moto Droid at works perfect. I've also had plenty of free support from the developer.

I would assume you are using zones? Maybe you could try setting 3 zones on your cam, each with different levels of sensitivity and then "dance your jig" in each of the zones. See if that helps narrow your sensitivity settings. If that works, you will be required to post the video of your jig. :-)
