zmxap across subnets

I'm just starting to play with integrating my zoneminder with misterhouse. I've read up on zmxap and have it installed and running on my zm box. I recently split my network into seperate subnets, and realize that ZM is on one subnet, and Misterhouse is on the other. I'm not very familiar with xAP ...

Re: AxisMotionDetection update

I figured out my own answers - yes all still required.

Has anyone tried use a start command for motion, and stop command on no motion? (Otherwise ZM just records whatever time is sent in the message)

Re: NoDect - triggering but not recording?

Solved own problem - the log below doesn't mean that ZM is recording anything :) So once zmtrigger was working I saw different message for an event

How does zmtrigger.pl start automatically?

I need to allow external triggers (from Axis cameras) using TCP. Even though I have the OPT_TRIGGERS checked in the options, it appears that zmtrigger.pl is not running! I checked running processes (ps ax) and ports in use (netstat -an) and no sign of zmtrigger. The zmdc.log shows that zmtrigger.pl ...

NoDect - triggering but not recording?

I've setup my Axis camera to use build in motion detection (as per the ZM AxisMotionDetection wiki). I can see all three cameras fine in LIVE mode. I now walk around in front of the cameras and see the below in my /var/log/messages. However, ZM console does not show any events. Any idea what is ...

AxisMotionDetection update

I'm looking at the AxisMotionDetection section of the wiki and wonder if: 1. Does this still apply to ZM 1.24.x ? 2. Did you try inserting the plus sign into the message at the camera using hex encoding? eg: "1|on%2B5|5|cause|text|showtext" 3. Why are you using a regex to remove quotes from the ...

Best setup for AXIS camer (M3114)

I managed to get my hands on an Axis M3114 camera loaded with cool features (until now I've been running a no-name cheapy with A/D conversion at the PC). I've got the camera working fine in ZM using MJPEG and HTTP port, but I need some general advice to start. This camera has lots of cool features ...

Are "smart cameras" a waste with ZM?

I got my hands on an Axis 211A camera that's working fine with ZM through the camera's HTTP interface. As I play more with this camera it seems like it has a huge amount of functionality (like motion detection) that is ignored by ZM since ZM will do all this on it's own using the video stream. Can ...

RTSP for better bandwidth control?

Now that I have my axis camera working via the HTTP interface, I'm thinking about switching to RTSP. From what I read, this protocol allows the client to pause/play the video stream which SHOULD let zoneminder ask for frames only when needed. Is this a correct assumption? Or does zoneminder just use ...

How can I confirm fps?

I have an Axis 211A and when I preview the camera in a browser window it show 15.x fps. Does that mean that my camera settings are wrong? (It should do 640x480 30fps)

Thanks

Camera connection becomes slow, ZM loses connection

I have ZM running great with a webcam - live view works, events capturing etc. However, after 12 hours or so something goes wrong. I'm new to ZM so I'm not sure where to look... It appears from the log below that ZM loses the camera conection. I tried to test my camera connection and ZM sees the ...

Lots of alarms, but always 0/0 score

I'm a newbie so forgive me if this is obvious... I'm getting lots of alarms on my one zone, causing recording of thousands of frames. However, for each event the alarm frames = 0, total score = 0, avg score = 0. On the monitor page I see the events each with score 0/00. What is causing this? Shouldn ...

Solved it...

I had a typo in the device name. I guess the suggestion from this is some error checking on user fields....

Fedora 13 + USB video = socket_sendto error

I've got a nice clean install, latest ZM on latest Fedora (13). I'm using a Hauppuage USB-Live-2 to stream video & audio into my PC. zmu shows the video: [root@zoneminder.ocg.ca ~]/usr/local/bin/zmu -d /dev/video0 -q -v Video Device: /dev/video0 General Capabilities Driver: cx231xx Card: Hauppauge ...

I didn't know Xen allows you to pass a PCI card to a VM. I use VMWare Server (free edition) and I can pass a USB device/Serial but not PCI devices (at least not last time I checked)

Interesting...
