I don't normally use live CD's but recently switched to arch from fedora, was playing with the ZMLarch live CD. Is there a way to install it onto the harddrive from the live CD ?

If you only have one capture card, & one camera, try to substitute another composite video source into the card, like a DVD player or anything that puts out composite video.
