Re: Very low FPS with a 1.3 megapixel cam. Solution?
Thank you for your replies.
I switched to 640x480 and left it at that for now. CPU load is close to 100% for all 4 threads during an alarm event (I look at System Monitor).
Haven't installed libjpeg-turbo, will do some research on that.

Very low FPS with a 1.3 megapixel cam. Solution?
Hi there. ZM 1.24.2 / Ubuntu 10.04-64 bit on a 1.8GHz Atom D525 CPU and with 4GB RAM. Just one IP camera monitor (modect) added to ZM. kernel.shmall = 1887436 kernel.shmmax = 1073741824 640x480: no problem 1280 x 1024: FPS becomes so painfully slow it looks like it's 1 fps or 0.5 fps... Live view ...

Following this guide, I've changed the video filename. How can I insert the video file name in event notification email? I can attach event video file itself to email by using %EV%, but I don't need it. I just need to show the full path to the video file (including the filename). Any suggestions ...

I'm trying to figure out how to do a similar thing, if I understood the original question correctly. I'm building a simple web interface for my ZM installation that needs to have a live view page that would only show streams from all cameras... That is, I need to know the direct links to my monitor ...

OK, understand now, thank you for explaining.curtishall wrote:The PV- series are software compression which use the BT878a chipset, so no they will not do deinterlacing. The only cards that will do deinterlacing _have_ to be used with our software:

Did you check this link??? http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15501 2. Are there video capture cards that would incorporate deinterlacing? Or is it physically impossible? Hardware compression cards typically have a method to do deinterlacing on the fly (Atleast our cards do). However ...

There are a lot of options, but most, if not all of them involves money, lots and lots of money!!! Did you check this link??? http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15501 1. Are those options cost-effective? If you have existing CCTV cameras probably they are, but what if you are planning ...

Inconsistent fps in generated videos if buffers changed
ZM 1.24.2 on Ubuntu 9.10 Generating an mpg video clip for every alarm - local monitor - BT878 video capture card - 320x240. 1. If I increase Pre- and Post- Event Image Count settings in a monitor settings / Buffers, the resulting video clip's rate gets distorted: the actual FPS initially, then I ...
