Need x10 hardware recommendations
Debian 5 (Lenny), Airlink 101 AICN500W SkyIPCam500W, Zoneminder 1.24, HP Pavilion zv5235us (2.8Ghz/1.5Gb). This is intended as a home security system doubling as MythTV DVR. Everything is functional, just need to fine-tune camera motion senstivity and set up schedules for monitoring. For x10, what I ...

Changing the camera resolution to QVGA and the capture width and height to 320 and 240 under the source tab gives me a picture. I still have the status 127 message, so I guess it doesn't mean anything (in this case). I think there is something to be done w/ shared memory to get 640x480 image. Still ...

Re: Unable to detect Axis 1346 camera
Me too, with AICN500W (Airlink 101) Debian 5 (lenny), Zoneminder 1.24.2 installed from source per instructions here http://www.rmacd.com/howto/zoneminder-debian-lenny-install.php. I get still image in browser at /cgi/jpg/image.cgi and /cgi/mjpg/mjpg.cgi . If you click on "stopped" at the top center ...

ISO Wired POE Night vision Camera - Recommendations?
I've been searching high and low and can't really find what I'm looking for. Like the title says: an IP camera that has nightvision and does power over ethernet. Confirmed works w/ Zoneminder would be A+. I would like to spend less (a lot less) than $200. Anyone have recommendations? I'd like to see ...

Thanks for the replies! This setup would be at a central location in the interior of our home, at the one location where nobody can get upstairs without passing it, or from one room the next. I think the only false we'd have to worry about would be the petite (< 6lb) cat. I will take a look at your ...

Pets and Motion Detecting
I am still in the research stage of deciding whether I want to set up ZM for home security. My plan is to set up a camera for motion detection that will either cause an alarm at night, or send an email during the day. So I'm planning to use a night vision camera. (Down the road I might use X10 to ...
