That led me looking for the zm.conf - I opened the zm.conf with nano, found the location of M_PATH_WEB, and browsed to M_PATH_WEB ...

What parameter should I tweak to lengthen modect recordings?

I had a lot of activity in view of the security camera recently, and it recorded a lot of short 3 sec bits. I'd rather let it record for a bit longer when triggered.

I decided to rebuild using centos 5.5 x64 and put the events, images, tmp on an iscsi target, using your ln examples, and it works fine. Thanks for the help. If anyone wants details, feel free to ask / pm me.

Hmmm... I have no /var/cache/zoneminder, and it looks like the previous directories were

/var/www/zm/events
/var/www/zm/images
/var/www/zm/sounds

Done. I am getting buffer overrun errors since I moved it to cifs/smbfs. It was working fine locally, but then I mapped /mnt/cam in fstab and updated the Options page with the new paths (images, audio and video). Also, I didn't move a database, not sure where that it is. I tried lowering fps ...

I am getting Signal 6 as well - events with no frames. Using network share for storage. Worked fine when files were local. Is there a definitive walkthrough for configuring ZM to capture events to a network share?

Ok, that was too easy. It was as simple as shutting down the server, adding another vCPU in XenServer, boot back up. I watched the resources while recording and play back, performance is much better, no longer 95% CPU
