Yup, from the product description (i.e., 9-bit ADCs) I later surmised as well that it used SAA713x chips (although the absence of Philips markings makes me leery) instead of bt8xx chips.
Although you didn't get it working, how far did you get it (given that other 713x-based boards are supported)?

Have you looked at the vk77a from the folks at x10.com?

The manual for this PTZ colour camera says it has 22x optical zoom. It is priced below $500, but the PTZ function is through programmed settings or controlled by a camera remote.
