Re: Weird horizontal lines with PV-155 card.
I'm happy to have something else to try regarding the camera power supplies, so I'll test that on Monday. I should have mentioned that these problems started after I removed three Hauppauge ImpactVCB 188 cards (each with a single bt878a chip and 4 BNC inputs, for a total of 12 inputs) and installed ...

Intel vs AMD for zma
Right now, the PC hardware review community seems to favor Intel over AMD for desktop CPUs, but very few desktop workloads make good use of multiple cores. I'm left wondering how different processors would perform while running a lot of instances of zma. Since a quad-core AMD A10-5800K goes for ...

card recommendation
I'm looking for a recommendation for a card (or cards) that will allow me to capture at 8+fps per input on 12 inputs. Not all 12 inputs need to be on one card, but I want to be able to put enough of those cards in one PC to get to 12 inputs per PC. Since a bttv chip can only do 5fps when switching ...

InnoDB
In the past, some of my zoneminder systems have been less than maintenance-free because they would occasionally lose power resulting in DB corruption. My research suggests that InnoDB tables are more fault tolerant than MyISAM tables.
Why hasn't zoneminder switched from MyISAM to InnoDB?

Not all inputs visible on bt878-based card.
Hi, I have a bt878-based card made by 123CCTV with 4 external BNC inputs. When the bttv driver loads, it detects the card type as 0 (unknown). Setting the source to channel 1 gets input 2. Channel 2 gets input 3. Channel 3 gets input 4. Channel 0 gets a blue screen, even when a video source is ...

Hi,
I have the 4-channel relative of this card. The video capture chip is not supported in Linux. Sorry.

Hauppauge ImpactVCB 188
Make: Hauppauge Model: ImpactVCB 188 Driver: bttv External Inputs: 4 BNC What works: Each BNC input. What doesn't work: There are a few minor bugs. Sometimes, when capturing from more than one input at a time, two video signals will be swapped for short periods of time. That is, when capturing from ...

Re: newbie question. it cant possibly be this hard...
Zoneminder is definitely not a program that just works out of the box. I would recommend either waiting until you have a lot of Linux experience before trying to get zoneminder working, or being prepared for a lot of challenges.

I have the same problem as well, except that it happens even when I am accessing zoneminder on the same LAN with Chrome. Seems to go away when I use Internet Explorer.

zma exiting unexpectedly - exit code 214
Recently, I've been seeing zma exiting unexpectedly. Some of the time it gives an exit status of 255, but mostly it's 214. I couldn't find a list of exit statuses and their meanings anywhere, so I downloaded the source code and grepped through it. It seems that the exit status is sometimes passed on ...

SOLVED: Zoneminder doesn't detect motion
Keywords: motion detection, sensitivity, alarmed pixels, filtered, blobs, percentage Earlier today I solved a problem with zoneminder not detecting any motion in blob mode. It was frustrating, so I'm posting the solution here for others. Problem: No matter how low I set the lower limit in "blob ...

I am really angry about all of the time I wasted trying to get an image on my zoneminder system when it was a simple shared memory issue. I demand a full refund of the full amount I paid for the software. Kidding aside, I am willing to do the coding to fix this if someone will point me in the right ...
