Re: Trouble Installing ZoneMinder on CentOS5.

Dear nvandal inter alia: OK, based on the work of the previous posters here is what to do if you do not want to 'git.' 1) go to: http://ffmpeg.org/download.html - download the obsolete (!!) release: FFmpeg 0.6.5 "Works with HTML5" 2) make sure you clear out the old FFmpeg install before installing ...

Re: Trouble Installing ZoneMinder on CentOS5.

I too, alas have this precise issue and have never been able to figure out "git" - and now I must! Please do tell us how to get ffmpeg 6.5! I thank any kind soul who can tell us inquiring minds, in advance!

Thank you...

Colleagues: Thank you B and M for your replies. Based on these indications (and the load on my pathetic Pentium D 3.06 single core processor) and my increasing needs including moving to wireless I have purchased a quad core chip, with a new MoBo and more RAM. I am hoping to use both my older wired ...

Multi-threading (quad core) support?

Dear Fellows:

I am doing an upgrade (now I have Zoneminder working on Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop) and I was wondering if anyone knows if I would gert a significant performance benefit from going with a quad core CPU instead of a dual core?

Best,

P.

Thanks & Chrome

Dear Colleagues: I too have faced speed issues (running Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop, dual core processors, Pico2000 type cards). David's library find dropped my CPU usage from 100% to the 30s, some other tweaks dropped them lower. I have also found that using Chrome, not FireFox makes a very big difference ...

Chrome - Montage - Missing Plugin Ubuntu 10

Yes, I too have this problem. Switched to Chrome for more speed and it makes a BIG difference for single cam viewing and for the console BUT, if you try to view in 'montage' mode - 'missing plugin' is the message for every cam . However, as the previous poster notes - WHICH plugin? A mystery. I too ...
