I'd just like to bump this for more input. Surely this would get a greater horizontal detail out of interlaced cameras. Obviously when scaling the captured picture up from 640x240 to 640x480 (or 720x288 to 720x576) for display, you would be stretching the pixels vertically to twice their captured ...

I know this is a bit late for this topic.

However, if anyone runs into this problem again in future, try increasing the warm-up frame count for the offending camera.

This happened to one of my cameras on a single-chip X-View card and it seemed just to be a failure to settle quickly.

Sorry to answer my own question but.......... The card was being detected as a BT878 ***UNKNOWN GENERIC*** So, being upset that it wasn't working, I thought, I'll have a 'luck-dip'. I set: modprobe bttv card=77,77,77,77 Boomshanka! - worked first time :lol: So just for future reference for other ZM ...

Y3KCCTV 4 port 1 chip card - any sucess with it?

Just recieved on of the 4 port 1 chip cards from y3kcctv for the grand old price of about £80. Card is as top of this page: http://www.y3kvision.com/acatalog/3k48.html For £80 you get a completely unbranded card with a Fusion 878a chip on it. And (just my luck) a picture output rather like this: ...
