How do I get the status to say "started" in the top of the main zoneminder window. I can monitor, but the events arent recording, I am pretty sure that's because it says "stopped". can anyone help at all? in order to get ZM working I need to: zmpkg.pl start and in order to get the picture to update ...

We setup a zoneminder machine almost a year ago or so, and I dont remember the admin pass. How can I reset it, I have root access to the machine, and the mysql database. whenever I login as anything it says logged in as "," and i cant view or change any settings. thanks in advance for your help ...

I set it to MoDetect, as it is supposed to be I now realise, but still no alarms, even with a threshold of 2.

the perl scripts in .usr/bin/ had problems in them. the logfile paths etc and apache users were wrong.
these cause this problem.

Now I have the exact opposite problem, I set it to "Monitor" and setup the settings like this minimum x 0 minimum Y 0 maximum X 100 maximum Y 100 alarm colour 255 threshold 15 min alarmed area 3 max 100 filter width 3x3 min filtered area 3 max filtered area 3 minimum blob 2 max 25 and I get zero ...

I get ONLY positives, I set the settings to minimum x 0 minimum Y 0 maximum X 100 maximum Y 100 alarm colour 255 threshold 255 min alarmed area 20 max 100 filter width 100x100 min filtered area 20 max 100 minimum blob 20 max 100 and it still just records everything all the time, the only way I know ...

Can't open log file: Permission denied at /usr/bin/zmdc.pl line 153.

I just put a absolute path to /tmp/zmdc.log instead because it couldnt access /var/log.

works now says its running!

yes, in /usr/bin/zmpkg.pl theres the web username and password, they have to match.

I just did that and it seemed to help a lot as well.

I tryed the quick and dirty method and still got error initializing shared memory. I can't seem to get it to change to "Started" and the image does not update, its always the same old image. if I run zmc from the commandline i can get it to update in the zoneminder window, but shouldnt ZM call zmc on its own without having to run it manually from the commandline? Thanks, Mike

I created a monitor, and can click on it in the main window, but the image is static and does not change until I run zmc --device 0 on the cmdline, then it says 33FPS and the image updates all the time. shouldnt ZM be able to start the capturing on its own? maybe I did something wrong. all else is ...
