Re: Ubuntu 14.04.1 and zm 1.27.1 issues
All functions seem to be working for me as well. I am not using any RTSP or IP cameras though. My setup consists of an older Intel SE7501BR2 server with hardware RAID with 8 port BT878 cards and 10 monitors at 640x480 in greyscale. It actually functions very well considering the age of the machine ...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04.1 and zm 1.27.1 issues
The latest snapshot is now show 1.27.99 and has addressed the zone image issues. It also appears as though the V4L issues with the addition of Multibuffering options per monitor has also been addressed though I have to test further to be 100% sure. One thing is for sure though, the new snapshot is ...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04.1 and zm 1.27.1 issues
There is a bug in the last daily snapshot from the iconnor repository. Luckily my zones are already set up and I do not need to edit to them. If anybody uses the 0726 daily snapshot from the iconnor repository they will have the same problem. There also appears to be a bug with the new ...

Yes you are right. I used the wrong wording. Lol Glad you have it working. Most of the USB cams I have encountered only work with yuyv pallet in linux.

Re: zmu -d /dev/video0 -q -v output a deal breaker?
What is the error message that you get in the log when zmdc.pl crashes? 320x240 with 24bit color should work. Some USB cams use yuyv format in place of NTSC. Give that a try and see what you end up with.

To check what processes are running you can always run top or top. How ram does system have?

Make sure you use a resolution supported by the driver. USB cams do not often work at their full marketed resolution in Linux. Do not set resolution higher than CIF or QVGA on this can in zone under.

Re: 1st step done, now need some recommendations
You should not have much trouble getting X10 powerline signals to work, especially if the circuits in question are on the same phase. The problem is with circuits on the opposite leg due to signal attenuation caused by the signal going out to the transformer and returning on the opposite phase. If ...

Re: New User hardware recommendations
I would not recommend anything from Bluecherry as it is overpriced. A Kodicom 8800 clone would do nicely. You need only look for bt878 on ebay to see several kodicom 8800 cards for sale. I have found them for as low as $40.00 before on ebay. These particular cards operate very well with zoneminder ...

Re: ZM 1.24.4 Performance Patch - Completed
Every improvement in CPU usage efficiency is good no matter how small. Looking forward to version 2 of your patch. It is only going to get better from here and I think this is exactly what Zoneminder has needed.

Re: ZM 1.24.4 Performance Patch - Completed
Looking forward to the SSE2 Alarmed Pixels mod. This performance patch works wonders on a server after you remove libjpeg62 and install libjpeg-turbo. The server often runs at 0.00 to 0.04 load with five monitors at 720x480 and at full frame rate. This is with 8 bit grey scale which is all I need ...
