Thanks for the reply but I can't find an answer to my particular question by searching the forums or within the wiki. I have FTP setup and working, however I can only upload the created jpg images. I am having trouble figuring out how to upload an avi file.

Is there anyways to upload the created *.avi file from FFMPEG rather than the captured frames via ftp?

I am trying this script on a freshly installed ubuntu server 11.04 32 bit, and I get this error. Configure error: zm requires libmysqlclient.a and then make and make install fail from there. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

Also, I failed to mention I've tried running chmod 777 /dev/video0, which I believe should eliminate any permission problems.

I looked through the syslog and found this line.

Jun 19 09:39:45 media-server zmfix[1289]: ERR [Can't stat /dev/video0: No such file or directory]

I should have checked the syslog before posting this and provided that information. Any idea why I would be getting this error?

Rather than tack this on to my old thread of trying to get Zoneminder setup I started a new topic as this is now unrelated. Reinstalling Ubuntu Server and installing Zoneminder from source solved my problem. The camera is working fantastic now.

I tried your suggestion but did not get any improvement. I've been trying this on ubuntu server. I just tried a zmlarch live cd and everything worked fine with no effort. What is this distro doing differently that I can't replicate on my server? Any thoughts?
