And the X264 version is an nice recode option I also have an .FLV version for integrating with and website. but X264 is an good alternative for mpeg coding.
Did you check if your configtable at the ZM database is still complete with the settings?

orange sources(not red!) means that your monitor is in monitor of "none" mode. it turns green if you set it on modect,morecord or so. Orange isn't bad, you can view your camera's if your source is working!
