Re: Smearing images making system unusable
Whats your load average and IO wait % like? I have noticed if I cause heavy disk access on my system it will cause smearing. I am running a core2duo E8500 on a single 7200rpm disk. My load avg is normally around 1.1 with 6 ip cams at 640x480 and 1 at 1280x960.

Re: Smearing images making system unusable
I can confirm the same problem on hikvision 2cd2112 cameras. I compiled ffmpeg and zoneminder from source and the issue seems to go away. Good version: ffmpeg version N-57330-g610a8b1 built on Oct 22 2013 19:49:24 with gcc 4.8 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.8.1-10ubuntu8) configuration: libavutil 52. 47.101 / 52 ...

Re: 1.26.4 Error while decoding frame errors
I'm seeing the same problem with 1.26.4 using the iconner ppa on ubuntu server. Downgrade back to 1.26.3 and the issue is gone. I also use rtsp mpeg streaming cameras.

Try IP cam viewer for android, I use it with zoneminder and it works great.

Re: Zoneminder system runs into disk problems after 2 months
The errors you are receiving are filesystem errors not zoneminder. Its likely some sort of hardware issue. Run Memtest to begin with (bad memory will corrupt the filesystem over time). Next I'd run manufacturer long test on the drive and also check power supply stability.

Re: ZoneMinder 1.25.0 - preview
Upgraded to 1.25.0 tonight on my home cam server, it seems to be running well and a bit faster than 1.24.4. One problem I've noticed on both 1.24.4 and 1.25 is the previous event button when viewing an event seems to cause something to crash which requires apache/and or zoneminder to be restarted in ...
