Re: I don´t can view the video
I suspect this relates to the below instructions and after a quick search 'Script Alias' was in the config. I would suggest as a new user of this great app to install the default 1.36, as 1.37 is the development version and by it's nature can have challenges as new features are perfected Step 4 ...

WD Green is an everyday computing disk according to the WD guide. It's the Purple you need for ZM

Re: Memory usage
Yesterday I built up an i3 with 4GB of Ram and it's running 8 x 1080p cameras on Mocord. It's sitting at a Load of 2-3 and 39% ram usage with an shm of 10% Main box is running the same along with a bunch of virtuals and a has a lot more grunt, but is running the same 186mb of the 6gb so not much ...

Re: My old SV3C cameras no longer work
I have 7 x SV3C B01POE-1080P-A units that work just fine with all versions of ZM. That model isn't available at the moment by the look of it, but the Wiki lists other models

Re: v1.37.12
System calmed down now and Network Encoder showing all cameras Set to always capture and not record, but recording as I need to have Decoding enabled as I use this system just to view the cameras. No big issue here as I just purge the files from the disk to stop it falling over. Montage & montage ...

Re: Camera backdoor
how about setting up an NPT source on your server as that has external access and then you don't need the cameras to talk out
Well that's how mine works and there is a total block on all camera IP's from getting out

Running 1.36.7 now and all my cameras are set to Mocord and not record jpegs and do passthrough. Live view still works just fine and the load is half of what 1.34 was

yes you can go with 'n days' of number of logs entries to keep it in manageable levels or alternatively just a number to keep

Re: what hardware for my cameras and needs?
I second the ex-corporate hardware. It gives you a stable platform that is built to run 24x7x365 at a fraction of the cost of what you could buy new I just costed up an HP Z400 to match mine and it comes in at £300 including a surveillance drive of 2TB so you are well under budget. The same goes for ...

Re: Using Raspberry Pi 4's versus a old computer
I would be interested to know as well as I too am running a workstation for ZM My current thoughts are to an i5 motherboard that my neighbour dropped in our skip the other week as it will take about 50% the Z400 does What are your thoughts on storage duplication as the cost of individual RPi's and ...

Re: Network and remote install
It's not really a ZM focus on this as it's more how you deal with the vast amount of data produced. A system records 300-500mb an hour per camera on 1080p. You can reduce that by accepting a lower resolution Either copy the event files to another server and then off to your external site or have ...

Re: Problem with POE camera
Based on other recent posts it possibly won't run more than one at a time as you haven't enough resource in a RPi especially if you haven't throttled the cameras output As mentioned more detail on your setup is required and it might be worth having a read through the https://zoneminder.readthedocs ...

yes I found that dropping to 6fps made a difference and still gives a decent video
A swap from the E5620 to a X5650 will give you the extra cores without going dual. £5 for a single chip or £16.50 for a pair from a quick search of the usual auction site
