When you click on the name of your monitor, does it show the image there?
Did you set up the monitor correctly for Foscams? http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Foscam
What are your monitor's settings under the General and Source tab?

Re: foscam 8905 setup
Seems to be more of a configuration issue than a memory issue. Here's what I use for my Foscam Source tab: Remote Host Path: /videostream.cgi?user=admin&pwd= Remote Image Colors: 24 bit color Capture Width: 640 Capture Height: 480 I think it is your path that is the problem. What works in your ...

Did you create any monitors to view your zone setup? What kind of cameras do you have?

Re: re-analyse saved events for movement
At this time I don't think Zoneminder can re-analyze images after they're recorded. However you can create a separate monitor that can record on motion if you want. It will take up a bit more room though whenever you have motion. Or if you want, you can have it record at a low frame rate and quality ...

Re: restricting users to control the camera pan / titlt and
I'll take a stab in the dark and say that the option: Control, under the User's profile in options is what you want to change.

Re: Getting drive by licence plates ?
No real special requirements that I can think of. A few suggestions though. Good quality camera: Frame rate and lighting can't help you if you have a really crappy camera. I have a few .3MP (640x480) cameras, and they get fairly good detail, but it starts to drop around 30ish feet. Please note that ...

Re: Compression of Video?
Could you post what your settings are set to? The settings for your cameras, monitors, resolution saved perhaps? Under the options link, what are your settings under the Images tab?
EDIT: Also, don't forget to include if what type of your monitors, (Record, MoDetect, etc).

Re: How to use ramdisk?
Sound good thats it's the default settings, but can i verify somehow that it actually does use the RAM for the temp files? Not that I know of, but I'm still quite new to Zoneminder, so don't be discouraged. The machine has 1 gig of ram, and its running ubuntu server 11.04 (which takes only about 2 ...

Re: How to use ramdisk?
If I'm not mistaken, Zoneminder keeps everything in RAM until it needs to write it to disk. That is probably the reason why you have to increase the amount of shared RAM available in the kernel when you have a large amount of cameras or high frame rate systems. What's probably happening is that you ...

Re: No Image shown in Monitor view
What settings did you use for your monitor? Are you copying and pasting from the address bar? If you are, that won't work since Zoneminder needs a way to authenticate itself with the camera. For my Foscam, I have to use these settings under source: Remote Protocol: HTTP Remote Method: Simple Remote ...

The only other thing I can think of the is that your using the latest Cambozola and the wiki says that it is known to cause issues. Try downgrading it.

Re: Repeat monitors in montage veiw
Indeed it is your browser. I'm quite new here and it never occurred to me that Chrome didn't use streaming like Firefox does. I used this quote in another post. Finally, there is quite a bit of image streaming in the package. So if you don't have FireFox or another browser that supports image ...

Re: Motion detection successful. But no video in monitor.
Never heard of Iceweasel till now. Looks like it's just a fork of Firefox so it should be compatible with ZM. In your options under Images, what do you have your: MPEG_LIVE_FORMAT and MPEG_REPLAY_FORMAT set to? I think the usable options are: mpg mpeg wmv asf avi* mov swf 3gp**, but the swf is the ...

Re: Server Requirements
I believe the statement: "More is better", is in the Wiki and fits quite nicely here. The reality is, it all depends on what you want to do with ZM and how many cameras you have now and in the future. I don't know what kind of system you have right now, so it's hard to say what you might need to get ...

Re: Repeat monitors in montage veiw
As with most any other open source product, the forums are maintained by volunteers and answers can be quite slow. I only have three cameras and I just finished my ZM box myself. So I don't think I'll be of much help to you, but we can try some basics. 1) How many cameras do you have total? 2) Have ...
