Re: x265-libs conflict
MasterC, I wouldn't recommend my method unless you enjoy breaking things before you fix them. Currently, in order to upgrade, I have to do these steps: uninstall both MythTV and ZoneMinder as well as their dependencies, to avoid conflicts in the next steps set up an RPM building environment download ...

Re: x265-libs conflict
I worked around the problem by rebuilding vlc-core against the devel- versions of ffmpeg, libmad, live, twolame, x264, and x265 that were already installed from the scrpms repo and installing the new RPM. After that, all the dependencies were satisfied. I know it's bad to mix these repositories but ...

x265-libs conflict
I read the post about zmrepo now using ffmpeg from rpmfusion. However, I have a conflict between scrpms and zmrepo over the x265-libs package. Would it solve the problem I if created a new package, using fpm, that provided both shared objects--lib265.so.110 from scrpms and lib265.so.79 from zmrepo ...

Re: zmc -d /dev/video0 exited abnormally
I realized that Audacity had installed a separate version of ffmpeg called ffmpeg-compat. Apparently, ZoneMinder was getting confused by the multiple versions of libavutil. I uninstalled the audacity and ffmpeg-compat packages and the monitors are now working. It's weird that this problem would pop ...

Re: zmc -d /dev/video0 exited abnormally
Troubleshooting at the command line, I found this:
[root@******* ~]# /usr/bin/zmc -d /dev/impactvcb
/usr/bin/zmc: relocation error: /usr/lib/libavcodec.so.54: symbol av_image_fill_arrays, version LIBAVUTIL_51 not defined in file libavutil.so.51 with link time reference

zmc -d /dev/video0 exited abnormally
On Monday I had a brief power failure. When my system came back up ZoneMinder started but I didn't check to make sure it was working. This morning I realized that it had not been recording anything since the power failure--both monitors were red. I found some corrupt MySQL tables so I repaired those ...

Re: You must run /srv/zoneminder/bin/zminit manually
This is really strange. I wanted to start fresh so I dropped the database and tried to reinstall the working package I had built earlier. Now there are additional errors: [***@******* zoneminder]$ sudo pacman -U zoneminder-1.25.0-13-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz loading packages... warning: zoneminder-1.25.0-13 ...

You must run /srv/zoneminder/bin/zminit manually
This morning at 9:25 AM I unexpectedly got an alert that ZoneMinder stopped. When I tried to start it, it failed and said "You must run /srv/zoneminder/bin/zminit manually." No packages had been upgraded or modified (in fact I had not used the computer since the night before) so I suspected a ...

Re: Cannot open memory map file
I noticed that after the major system upgrade there was a newer version of php.ini. The package manager left my original version in place, which was expected. I modified the new one to meet my needs and restarted Apache. However, the video stream is now a broken link. The Apache error log showed ...

Re: Cannot open memory map file
So now it seems ZoneMinder is utilizing the video device. It detected motion when I went outside and waved my hand in front of the camera and I can see a thumbnail. However, it won't display video. This error appeared in the system's logs: Sep 9 15:57:36 localhost web_php[12936]: ERR [socket_sendto ...

Re: Cannot open memory map file
While troubleshooting, I noticed the zmu command could not run because of the following error: error while loading shared libraries: libavformat.so.53: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I added the correct directory to a file in /etc/ld.so.conf.d/ and ran ldconfig and it ...

Cannot open memory map file
Last weekend I upgraded the packages on my Arch Linux system and after a reboot, ZoneMinder stopped working. The logs say: 'zma -m 1' exited abnormally, exit status 127 Can't open memory map file '/dev/shm/zm.mmap.2': No such file or directory Can't open memory map file '/dev/shm/zm.mmap.2': No such ...

Re: video sync problem
Thanks! That looks MUCH better. Setting CAPTURES_PER_FRAME to 2 stabilized the images but dropped the fps to 6.15 at a max resolution of 320x240. Disabling V4L_MULTI_BUFFER also stabilized it and lowered the fps to 5.12 but it allowed the resolution to be 640x480 (the cameras' native resolution). I ...

video sync problem
I've been using Motion for a couple of years to monitor my two security cameras. It works, but since it lacks the ability to focus on zones it ends up generating thousands of files, which require cleanup scripts and is incredibly tedious if I want to locate an event. So I decided to try ZoneMinder ...
