I want to use email to notify me of motion events. i see reference (eg, https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?p=126956) to an Email action flag on the filter, but don't see one in my v1.37.62 interface. i suppose hacking some script to execute would be possible, but...? Or am I missing ...

just found the EVENT_CLOSE_MODE documentation; i think that answers my 'continuous recording' question.

Continuous events are events that occur because you told it to record all the time. where am i telling this to happen? They are not triggered by onvif. then what would be triggering them? i have turned off all analysis. and how about the monitor logs: what (if not onvif events) would be generating ...

Do those network settings on the camera persist through a power -off? I don't think anthing is gonna work if nmap can't see those ports.
