I have now a new installation based on Debian 12 and zoneminder 1.36.33 from repositories. The same error exists.

It is funny, that it is possible to watch (h.265 camera) events using "Montage Review" view, but not directly from camera's event list.

I'm just commenting here, that I have the same problem with Reolink RLC-810A, with the latest software version. ZM version is 1.36.15 i.e. also the latest at the time of writing.

Is this problem somewhat Reolink specific?

Have you run tests against port 6802 (not 8602 as in your examples).

Is it possible to make a secondary ZM server, which does not have any capturing, but which is only able to view recorded events? My idea here would be to increase security by allowing "external" access only to the read-only server, which is not able to view any monitors, or to access any settings ...

Yes, I can verify the solution. Authentication is the key. When I disable it, things start working, and when I enable it on virtual computer, monitor window stops working.
