Re: New capture card to replace two old ones
Actually I am keeping an eye on an older Axis M7010 16-channel encoder. Have seen a few of them on Ebay now for around $250. Still have to dig through the documentation to see if this will work with Zoneminder, but the brief search of their manual seems to imply the streaming options would allow it ...

Re: New capture card to replace two old ones
Yeah budget wise the IP video encoder just doesn't fit. I have learned the hard way bowling alley budgets, at least in my home area, are ridiculously low. For the price of a couple encoders it would be nearly the same cost to ditch analog and go IP cam. Which is fine with me if that happens, all the ...

New capture card to replace two old ones
I have been supporting an install at a local bowling alley for quite a few years. We originally started out with an old Backbox dvr system which was a Pentium D custom box with a proprietary capture card. It was a Windows XP modified install that just never worked right. This was back when I was ...

Zoneminder install keeping me from updating or installing packages
I installed Zoneminder 1.30.4 on a fresh install of Debian 9, had a few issues with MySQL/MariaDB while completing the install but it ultimately worked. Zoneminder has been running for over a week without any issues and has had some very low system utilization on the PC it resides on so I decided to ...

Re: [SOLVED] Strange behavior after Server OS and ZM upgrade
Well it appears after the cameras started feeding more movement to the capture card the previous setting stopped being effective. The setting worked fine with minimal movement, but when the lanes started filling with people then the videos became blurred again. Changed the "Deinterlaced" setting to ...

Re: Strange behavior after Server OS and ZM upgrade
Well based on the direction you sent me in, I was able to find some more specific areas to explore in the settings. It seems that these capture cards are only happy when interlacing is enabled. Switched all the source settings to "V4L2-INTERLACED" and everything is clear in the video now. I will ...

Re: Strange behavior after Server OS and ZM upgrade
Thanks for the info, I will take a look and see what I can find. Hopefully I can find a workaround for that. Would love to move them to IP Cams for sure, just have to wait for their but their budget may not allow until later this year.

[SOLVED] Strange behavior after Server OS and ZM upgrade
I upgraded a server for a local bowling alley after a hard drive failure, figured it would be a good time to move off of the old Ubuntu 10.04 Server since it would be a re-install anyway. Since the upgrade to the newer server environment and going from ZM 1.26 to 1.29 the live view and recordings on ...

Is there enough PC for my DVR
I am building planning on building a DVR for a customer of mine. Currently the business is running 8 CCD cameras off of a store bought PC based DVR system. Needless to say, the system is full of problems and unreliable. I already have 2 - Kodicom KMC-8800 cards to put in, but the processor and ...
