Re: SAA7134 card with AMD chipset - combo from hell?

Final update on this one - I've had stability problems with the memory (though it memtest'ed ok for two days) and I had to clock it down to 1067 from 1333. I suspect there's something that the CPU/MoBo doesn't like about all 4 slots being populated. I may need to tweak the BIOS settings and take ...

Re: SAA7134 card with AMD chipset - combo from hell?

Bit of an update on the off-chance that someone searches for similar problems... After many many rebuilds including various version of Linux I think I've narrowed it down to the video card. When speccing the server I bought the cheapest PCI-E I could find, a low-level NVidia one. After stripping ...

Re: make error

Edit zm_local_camera.cpp and add in an include line at the end of all the other #include lines:

Code: Select all

#include <linux/limits.h>
Fixed the compile error for me on Debian Squeeze.

Re: PCI problems with PV-183 on Sandy Bridge based mb

Have you tried enabling/disabling "PNP Operating System" in your BIOS? There's a slim chance that it may change the IRQ assignment and help Linux see the card. It is a very slim chance though...

SAA7134 card with AMD chipset - combo from hell?

I've been running an 8-chip 8-port BTTV card from http://www.camsecure.co.uk/CamsecureBT878aPCICard.html for almost two years now on an Intel Q9550 in Dom0 of a Xen server and that's run with no problems at all. I've just put together an AMD Phenom X4 840 based OpenVZ/KVM server and this time it's a ...

Yup, working quite nicely :) The various chips run quite hot (50degC and above) so I've added a large heatsink (an old Northbridge cooler) to the central chip and smaller heat sinks to each of the 8 BT878s (purchased from http://www.dealextreme.com).

I've just had to rebuild my server due to hardware failure and I have the same problem in 1.24.2 in both IE8 and Firefox 3.5.1. I've disabled all FF caching (memory, disk) and cleared all browser history and still no FPS information or functional playback controls. :( I've also tried a fresh Windows ...

what about this one ? http://www.camsecure.co.uk/Camsecure808LinuxPCIcard.html Well after seeing your post I took a look at their site and the close-up of the 8 port card looked like the 'bt878 8 chip input' shown on this page -> http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_hardware So, I ...

It's been over 5 years and I'm pleased to report the SV823A is still going strong. Apart from the occasional local power cut (and one replacement PSU - see later) it's run 24x7x365 for every one of those days. In that time it's enclosure has been fastened to my garage wall and has endured ...

Performance compared to 1.22.x ?

I've been using 1.22 for quite some time now on a VIA C3 based system (roughly PIII-500 power) and wondered how folk had found 1.24 compared to 1.22 in terms of CPU usage before I look to upgrade. 1.22 is running quite nicely with three cameras (2 BW, 1 colour) and I wouldn't want to screw up by ...

Haven't tried nph-zms but the system has been running fine for about two years, right up until the point when FF updated to 2.0.0.14. Once streaming has started I close the monitor window and the port that's receiving the stream stays open until I either restart FF or restart ZM.

I'm running a 1GHz VIA CPU on a SV823A board which has 4 BT878 chips on it. I can run 4 cameras off that (3 B&W plus 1 colour), monitoring at 5ps and capturing at 10 (as long as not too many cameras trigger at once) The board, hard disk, three cameras and a HomePlug ethernet interface only consume ...
