Ah HA! That would certainly explain why I can't find it in 1.30.4. I'll give it a try. (Why not? It's a test zm install anyway!)

It has been merged to master. ubuntu packages have been available from my branch for ages. Try it out. Well, I went and set up a brand-new instance of zoneminder in a vm (ubuntu 16.04LTS), and pulled in your package of v.1.30.4. Unless I'm missing it, I'm seeing absolutely nothing different from 1 ...

This is actually a known bug with ffmpeg, and at least a medium part of why vlc was introduced into 1.27. Suggest trying libvlc as your source type instead of ffmpeg.

Tack on and it'll switch to the regular skin. (Or ?skin=flat to go to the flat skin.)

Not aware of any way to re-add them to the database. If you only need to re-add them so that zm can make video files out of them, another way is to load them into adobe premiere. It allows importing a sequence of numbered stills as though it was a single continuous video clip. (Probably other stuff ...
