Hi all, like a nugget I only have an account "admin" and have forgotten the password, no "user" account. I'm on Ubuntu server, and think it's 1.35 I'm using, but not too sure, sorry I sound like a complete idiot, but it's been over a year since I logged in, Now I've fixed a broken camera, I'm stuck ...

Re: Dedicated drive issue - Ubuntu 18.04

Thanks,

This is now fixed using the systemd method, which was surprisingly straightforward.

Thanks, Scott.

Dedicated drive issue - Ubuntu 18.04

Hi all, I recently rebuilt my server with Ubuntu 18.04. I have mounted a dedicated hard drive to /mnt/CCTV using fstab by the drive UUID. I read and tried to follow these instructions on telling Zoneminder how to find the drive: https://zoneminder.readthedocs.io/en/latest/installationguide ...

Ubuntu 18.04: MySQL or MariaDB for Zoneminder

As per the title, I'm just setting up a new install of Ubuntu 18.04 and have come to install Zoneminder.

I have the choice of MariaDB or MySQL, but don;t know which to go for.

Are there any pro's / cons to Zoneminder as to which one I go for?

Cheers, Scott.

Re: CentOS 7 installation trouble - help please

Bingo!

Disable the firewall and ZM is up and running! Thanks!!!

I'l look into allowing ports 80 and 443, now you mention it, I do recall doing this before many moons ago..

PS: love the Python avatar!

Cheers, Scott

Re: CentOS 7 installation trouble - help please

Brilliant, thank you... Last night I was tired and had had enough, should have thought about sudo.. duhh.. I got through all the "New Installs" steps, and ignored the "Upgrades" steps. All seemed to go through successfully, no warnings thrown up. However.... My server IP address is 192.168.1.220 ...

CentOS 7 installation trouble - help please

Hmm... Having trouble.. following the ZMREPRO method... I'm sure remember apt-get just simply working out of the box on Ubuntu...? I'm new to CentOS. Please bear in mind that this is a vanilla fresh install of CentOS 7 Minimal iso (maybe I should have used the Full iso?). I have only installed PLEX ...

Re: CentOS 7 installation

Thanks for that!.. That was as easy as 1,2,3! Please note, one slight deviation from the guidance exists, the Readme that was installed was not .Centos7, but was actually .Redhat7, so the last line of guidance didn't work, but I browsed to the folder and read it anyway. Guidance from https://zmrepo ...

CentOS 7 installation

Hi all, Just rebuilt my server with CentOS 7 64bit. I've read the wiki on installation for CentOS, but it doesn't cover 7 (only going up to 6). Can I follow the existing installation instructions for CentOS 6 without an issue? Or is there anything I need to watch out for that's different? I am new ...

Well, a big pat on the back to Phil then!

Many thanks indeed! It's nice to have a success story, even though I'm £70 out of pocket!

But it could have been worse... I'm glad it was just the battery.

Thanks ZM devs - you captured a real thief in action!

Recently, someone trespassed onto my front garden, opened the alleyway gate and stole £70 worth of brand new car battery... no doubt to weigh it in as scrap for £5.00... ZM caught the vehicle reg, and the guys face! Good job! (These images are reduced in size and quality for the forum, the originals ...

Re: Banana Pi suitability for ZM? or other micro computer?

Thanks dude..

So effectively, for a simple install, it's probably not feasible for a PI to run the whole show...

Thanks, Scott

Banana Pi suitability for ZM? or other micro computer?

Hi guys, Looking at changing my server as it's having a few issues, and is way over-powered for what I need anyway - I recently tried moving my simple website on to a raspberry Pi and had great success wit it. There are a few services on my server that I'll be moving to independent hardware, ideally ...
