Re: Can't upgrade to 1.36.33-buster1 on amd64: "unmet dependencies"

The zoneminder package in https://zmrepo.zoneminder.com/debian/release-1.36 buster/ isn't built for "buster" (aka "oldstable"). It appears (if the list of unmet dependencies is any guide) to have been built for "bookworm" (aka "testing") instead. The only way that's going to get fixed is by re ...

Re: Debian repo // GPG key

I'm getting 404 Not Found from all the zmrepo URLs I've been able to find, so my guess is something is down? :(

Re: Debian Buster install procedure for Zoneminder 1.34.x

Worked here, upgrading from 1.33.16. I had to do this though. systemctl stop zoneminder killall /usr/bin/perl zmupdate.pl Remove the commend, for "User" under: /lib/systemd/system/zoneminder.service , and reload systemd daemon, else it would throw the following error.: Jan 22 12:56:25 zoneminder ...

Re: Debian Buster install procedure for Zoneminder 1.34.x

Thanks. This is exactly the (I hope, last) problem I had when upgrading from 1.32 to 1.34 today. (Well, it was a bit more complicated than that, because my old Debian jessie system died, so I had to build a new one, but I was able to rescue the database and files from the old system's disks. The new ...

Re: zma repeatedly being restarted...

Thanks. They were set to 10 and 5. I've changed then to 90 and 10 to see what happens. Clearing the MaxFPS value had an unexpected side-effect on a trigger script that relied on there being a value in that field; it ended up dividing by nothing, which did at least make it clear where one of the ...

Re: zma repeatedly being restarted...

I had the cameras with the default "All" zone working reasonably smoothly at 4fps 1920x1080 when they were beside me on the windowsil, but I dropped the rate to 2fps when I put them up outside. If there's a data bottleneck it's more likely the machine running ZM, which is a few years old now. It ...

zma repeatedly being restarted...

Not sure what's going on. I recently put my cameras (which I'd been testing on a nice short network cable) up outside where they're actually useful. I then set about creating some useful zones. At some point they started acting a bit erratically. I can't tell whether this is because they're sending ...

Re: 1.32.3 - Can't create frame capture images from video because there is no video file for this event

Curiously, if you do not have any video saved, but only jpegs, you get the same error when moving from a frame with analysis overlay to a frame without. I suspect something somewhere (the message I see comes from /usr/share/zoneminder/www/views/image.php line 187) is flipped, and looks for video ...

Re: ZM v 1.32.0 Trashed After Upgrading to Ubuntu v 18.04

Some of the issues I experienced when installing ZM 1.32.3 with php 7 were fixed by installing php-fpm and fcgiwrap and enabling the appropriate modules in apache, but the problem of the web interface only ever showing STOPPED is one I'm still having. Clearly the web interface can't talk to the ...

Re: Capture frames and live video - Debian stretch

There is consistency in the stepping-through-frames issue. If you start with a plain zero-score frame then the frame-changing buttons always take you to the plain _capture.jpg image for the next frame. If, however, you start from an alarm frame (with zone changes outlined) then it only shows ...

Re: Capture frames and live video - Debian stretch

I found and fixed the "Deep Storage" issue quite early on. The default now seems to be "Medium", which uses the date-in-the-middle file path shown in the message. It's definitely looking for frame images in the right place, as it successfully dsplays some of them, but sometimes it doesn't do the ...

Re: Capture frames and live video - Debian stretch

I should note that the "because there is no video file" message isn't correct. The file does exist: -rw-r--r-- 1 www-data www-data 1320278 Apr 24 08:45 /var/cache/zoneminder/events/1/2019-04-24/33/33-video.mp4 Presumably the message is being triggered for some other reason. As far as I can tell ...

Capture frames and live video - Debian stretch

I've just recently (following a house move) finally upgraded my system from ZM 1.2something to 1.32.3, and changed the cameras I' using from old V4L ones to HikVision DS-2CD2355FWD-I ones. Finally got the cameras responding by using ffmpeg. At one point (with, I think 1.30.x) they were working with ...
