I'd have expected both libs to have the same version number - can you check if you've different versions of libvlc and libvlccore installed?

Re: new libvlc advantages

No, we don't have any data. That's where you come in. You need to test the new libvlc method with your cameras and then provide feedback. As a starting point, I've just posted a comparisom of the methods available for my cameras: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=21991 Expanding ...

Re: New problem - camera goes red

I've been having some stability issues with ffmpeg reading rtsp streams; seems to be similar problems as other ppl in this thread. I've posted my way of fixing it at http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=22024 Thanks for that patch! I'm running zoneminder on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with ...

Re: Events closing too early

Look at the "Buffers" Tab in the monitor setup - here you can specify Pre and Post Event Image Count. These settings tell zoneminder how many frames to record before the first frame that actually triggers an alarm and how long to keep recording after the last alarm frame. If you increase the Post ...

Re: Can't get Axis M3025 camera to record over 3 fps

Does anyone have ANY other ideas? The URL you're showing in your config is seems to be for single snapshot mode. You should really try to use mjpeg mode with the frame rate set at the camera; You can try remote host path /axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?resolution=800x600&fps=5 but I'm guessing here - I ...

Re: FosCam FL9820W HD Stream Corruption

Edit: this didn't actually work. I'm still working on the issue. Long story short: don't keep muliple copies of Zoneminder in /usr/src and forget which one you're working on. In the code quo quoted, you're missing a final step: you must actually use the option you jjust created: code below is from ...

Compare Reliability and CPU load of IP Cam methods

Hi, with the availability of libvlc capture method on 1.27.0 I decided to have a short look at the different capture methods available for an IP camera. The test used a trivisopn NC-336PW network Camera - FullHD Resulution @ 18fps and lots of available formats for capturing images: RTSP H.264 stream ...

Re: FosCam FL9820W HD Stream Corruption

there was a great thread about this issue recently: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=21911 To summarize: Problem is caused by defaulting to UDP transport and losing frames due to insuficient buffering. Possible Workarounds: * wait for 1.27.0, use libvlc instead of ffmpeg * patch ...

Re: How to compile release-1.27?

Thank you for that. I am always puzzled though. There seem to be a major conflict over how to compile from source. One way I see is this: root@host:~# ln -s distros/ubuntu1204 debian; root@host:~# dpkg-checkbuilddeps; root@host:~# dpkg-buildpackage; Which always seems to miss ffmpeg dependencies ...

Re: How to compile release-1.27?

I'm having trouble figuring out how to compile a particular branch. I've tried several different things. # git clone https://github.com/ZoneMinder/ZoneMinder.git zoneminder; # cd zoneminder; # git checkout -b release-1.27 origin/release-1.27 # ln -s distros/ubuntu1204 debian; # dpkg-checkbuilddeps ...

Window Size for Alarm Frames / Zone Editing with hires Cams

I'm having an issue with window size when using 1080p cameras running browser on windows: for editing zones or showing alarm frames, zm tries to open popup windows bigger than actual screen size. This results in popups extending "under" the windows task bar and making controls (like links to next ...

Avoiding false alarms on ilumination changes at night

I've got an outdoor camera looking into a court with some some motion controlled lights. At night, these lights are frequentliy triggered by cats. Configuring motion detection to not trigger on cat-sized blobs is easy, but I can't get rid of the false alarms caused by the lighting changes. The ...

Re: off loading processing to the GPU.

I am new to zoneminder. I am testing it with a 1080p IP camera. On i7-4770 machine I get CPU values (using top) of 25% for zma and zmc. Is there a way to offload some of the processing to my NVIDIA gtx 660 card. If I will have 3-4 cameras this is really going to be a problem. Thanks I've got a ...
