Since the zones are stored in the database what about this idea: Defining a dummy monitor with no function... just to have a monitor id to keep all unneeded zones. Defining all zones of interethe st at the different camera positions for the real cameras. Then in database change all defined zone ...

OK this is solved now. The four cameras now pan and tilt as they should by a script using zmu and zmcontrol.pl in a batch file. The batch runs an endless loop. When I am not at home I sometimes take a look through cameras, it´s kinda fun with the cams panning but one could get a little sick staring ...

OK, this is solved too... the wiki covered everything I wanted to know about zmu.
Now cameras pan without triggering any unnecessary alarms.

OK, solution is near... ZMU can be invoked to inactivate the monitors, now just find something about the syntax

Can the function of a camera be de/activated by commandline?
I would like to turn off function, move to different position and then turn on function e.g. modect again.
Else while moving it generates an alarm that is unwanted...

It was asked several years ago, but I didn´t find any solution to this: Since a PT Camera can have several position presets, is it possible to have zones for each position-preset? Can the zones be activated or deactivated manually with a controlscript like the cameras can panned or tilted using ...

I just tried the option ZM_WEB_POPUP_ON_ALARM but firefox didn´t do a thing when in background.
I restarted the zm-serivice but no luck...

Zoneminder ist running on opensuse 13.1 - 32bit in runlevel 3.
Clientbrowser is firefox 26 running on windows 7.

Any ideas please?

Problems solved!
I installed the newest version of Opensuse (13.1) and then I installed ZM 1.26.4.
After a little trouble with the strict mode of mysql server the system is working, PTZ functions of my foscam clones are available!
