Thanks mikb. Looks like this will work for .mov files too, which is what I'm using (since mov file size is about 20% of mpeg).

I need to save an hour's worth of events (about 50 individual events) to one video. Is there a one-step way to do this easily? Otherwise is the only option manually creating a video of each event and concatenating using some sort of video editing software?

What are the main features of 1.30? I tried to catch up with the changelog(s) but its hard to follow and seems out of date. Especially looking to see if it supports record/playback of full motion H.264.

Should ZM be stopped while this is running?

Is there a simple way to disable the zoom feature? In other words if I click or tap on the video that's playing, I DON'T want the video to zoom in.

I initially built out my setup with Grandstream IP cameras, mainly because they got good reviews here and on Amazon, and it was very straightforward to set them up. But it $125+ a pop the investment started to add up very quickly. Plus I prefer the darker color, and Grandstream now only makes white ...

Is this project still viable? It would be great to try multiple monitor playback with the current version of zoneminder.

What if you do want to save all your specific camera configurations, just dump & reload the config table?

In theory starting your container using -v option to map each of the mysql, image, and events dirs to a dir on the host filesystem (outside the container) should persist all of Zoneminder's operational data between reboots. ...-v /var/local/mysql:/var/lib/mysql -v /var/local/zm/images:/usr/share ...

Try port 8000 or 8080, or leave it as default and Docker will assign something for you, like port 49153.

Also try googling "linux what's using port" and see what is going on with your system.

I'm an AM/PM kind of guy. Is there a way to customize the timestamp display format in event view (similar to how it's done in monitor setup)?

Did you confirm the correct path for FFMPEG? It could be /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg or something else.
