Sorry I have been a bit busy.
I have started banning the users that have been spamming the wiki.
I will see what I can do about cleaning it up over the next few weeks.
So this should slow down now.

Re: reading licence plates, comparing to web site database?
No this is not implemented in ZM, though I am intrigued. That would certainly be a nice feature if more countries would do this.
It's possible it could be scripted to do this, though I'm not sure what kind of load this would place on the system each time it runs.

Re: Add/Edit (new) Zone: Zone Image not displayed
Okay this sounds like my config...
So in /usr/lib/zoneminder should be a symlink pointing to /var/lib/zm/images or the like. Make sure the permissions of /var/lib/images and verify the sim link is there.
Else you could remove the symlink, and just create the alias in apache.

Re: Cannot view recorded video clips
With out knowing what distro your on the web logs will be in either /var/log/httpd or /var/log/apache or /var/log/apache2 If you have a desktop installed you might very well have a log viewer as well to view and search the logs for that code to see the referenced error. Beyond that I I know from ...

Re: Zoneminder fails to startup!
Since I think I'm the only one that created a package for Fedora that actually put logs in /var/log/zoneminder you might want to check /tmp for the logs.
Trying to start it manually from the command line will likely give you some hint as well.

Re: Add/Edit (new) Zone: Zone Image not displayed
Here are the various reasons that the zone frame might not display:  ZM (or the apache user) does not have R/W permissions to the images folder (or what ever folder in defined for the path in zm options. If you see the images in this directory, then this is not your issue. The Path ...

Re: Agasio A632W Set Up
Sorry for coming back so late into this. You are correct that ffmpeg did and very well may still have a problem with auth in RTSP. I beleive a patch was in the wiki and I might very well have it on one of my servers. I'm still a ways away from being able to build packages and such, but if I get some ...

Re: Agasio A632W Set Up
You might want to check and see if ffmpeg was built with librtmp. I believe if memory serves me correct, VLC has live555 built in to negotiate RTSP. ffmpeg my need to be extended to support the adobe version though I can't be sure without testing the camera myself. What error returns if you try to ...

Okay I understand that you can not get a stream which is why I ask for a wget. If the stream headers report something other than whats requested it would show. These are the blind bits most people don't know.

Re: What videos encoder, audios encoder that zoneminder supp
Default video is mjpeg stream, though if you build in ffmpeg it can stream mpeg container. Other codecs can be be used if you compile them in and add any needed bits of code in.
Audio is not supported.

Re: A good way to stop spammers on a phpBB3 message board
Rather than commenting about spam it better to just use the forum tool to report it and not comment. This way we don't have to clutter the forum with unnecessary comments that we have to debate later weather to remove. It always leaves a funny feeling in my stomach when I decide to delete a good ...
